SEC West Standings

    Plus, Vandy has a pretty good pitching staff. Barely winning in extra innings can very easily be a product of facing good pitching. Good pitching always beats good hitting. Fortunately, we had good enough pitching in 2 of those games.

    Is this who accepted your application and you tell people its The Cardinal? I have some bad news then....

    I have to agree that this team is inconsistent.

    I see it in 2 areas:

    >The pitching staff is Jekyll & Hyde. This is the 1st yr in many yrs that you haven't had a lock down starter in the rotation. Can you remember another year where at week 9 of the SEC season the rotation was still being tweeked?

    >Fielding.......like a box of chocolates.......But this has been relatively typical of Tiger teams for a while now.

    Something Hanagrif pointed out this weekend that shocked me but I think lends itself to the inconsistency point. Is the Tigers longest winning streak since SEC play started is 4 games.

    Something I'm interested in seeing in the post-season is if the SEC is truly strong 8 deep or is it overrated. Of course, the NCAAs excellent job of pairing could destroy that.
