They looked like a cupcake to these teams last year, got beat by Florida Atlantic. They play in a really sorry conference. Jamario Thomas may be fun to watch and may break a good run or two like Moats did for La Tech in 2003, but we will comtrol the game from start to finish and score way more than Saban's teams did early in the season I think.

    9/4 at Texas L 65-0
    9/11 Fla Atlantic L 20-13
    9/18 at Colorado L 52-28
    9/25 at Baylor L 37-14

I see UGA winning it to be honest. I don't buy into this whole DJ Shockley is horrible idea just yet....people say the same thing about anyone who has yet to play.....DJ has had his bad games (Florida in '02 and others....) but he also was the MAIN reason for UGA winning against Clemson and Kentucky in '02 and some other solid games....SC in '03 I think....

This may surprise some but I really believe Pollack is replaceable with Moses and other quality guys on the line.....now....Thomas Davis and Thurman will be missed but both sucked at covering anyway and I doubt UGA will have a hard time finding good tacklers....remember the South Carolina game where Greg Blue hammered Pinkins to stop him from getting a 1st down? People like that....

Seems UT is getting way, way, way too much press right now.

    UF has glaring defensive problems

I'll be honest! Zona St. worries me a heck of a lot more than Tennessee does!

Zona St. is that sort of run and shoot type team, and with a makeshift secondary, I think our pass defense may be a little lacking the 1st few games of the year.[/QUOTE]

The "drubbing" ASU gave Iowa last year is a clear indication of what they're capable of doing. This coming season will be much the same as last year, with ASU not getting a whole lot of media fan-fare, but are certainly capable of pulling off an upset.

The problem with ASU, like 90% of the PAC-10, is that they are so inconsistant. They might play out of their minds one week, and then totally lose focus and play like a Sun Belt team the next.

Wasnt that big of a deal? So if LSU wins the West this year, will it not be that big of a deal? That is a crazy statement!!! I do think we are a little overhyped. Mainly because of how good we did do with the circumstances and all of our returning starters. We also had a hell of a recruting run.........if not top 5 this year, then next!!!

Good luck this season and hope you do win the West!!!! I would love a rematch in Dec!!!!!! :thumb:

I think when he said, "not a big deal" he meant not a big shock. People may not have been expecting it, but it wasn't a huge suprise.

I just think most people didnt believe we would with the freshman starting and UGA as overrated as they "always are". That was my view on it. But if thats what he meant.. :yelwink2:

I think most people thought that the Vols had alot of good players and a solid team but were relying on freshmen QBs and that one fact stopped people from picking Tennessee to win the East (besides that Georgia was supposed to be "awesome"). Nobody could have predicted those 2 freshmen to play as well as they did. Thus, I think people weren't expecting it, but weren't completely shocked.

I agree with the "not a big deal" part because everyone knew that whoever was representing the east was gonna lose to Auburn.

I like the idea that UT is getting way too much press.

It seems like whoever plays Notre Dame on their schedule immediately gets more hype. And since Notre Dame beat Tennessee last year, it just added to it.

Georgia is in excellent shape. If Shockley can improve his consistency some, Georgia should win the SEC East. By the way, Josh Johnson is BETTER than Thurman and Ellerbe will probably be the next All-American at Georgia.

If the SEC actually starts using instant replay, the VOLs will have to figure out another way to beat Georgia.
