This is one of this areas where I think local governments like Lafayette are smart to install a city-operated non-profit physical network and let us all have access to many more online vendors for phone, internet, HDTV, and lots more. It's where a bit of smart government can enable much more private enterprise by ending the near-monopolies enjoyed by Cox and ATT.
