LSU is WAY to young to do any damage this year. They wont win the SECT and they wont make it out of the first round unless they play the worst team in the NCAAT. IM not bashing them b/c I think Brady did a great job this year but you can tell that LSU is tired. Good luck tigers I hope im wrong. OH and the only way UK gets in is if they beat LSU and win the SECT.

Dmitch and Big Baby all sec

dont play that same young card we been hearing for about 6 yrs. bradys had more than a fair chance to show what he can produce. john brady will never sniff any kind of title. you want to pack the pmac and not have to sell the damn tickets for $5. totally embarrassing. one and done will not be accepted this year.

He definitely has the most talent in the SEC but they just aren’t ready. They will lose and he will be back next year and we will see the exact same thing happen over and over again until Skip finds the nads to can him. IM not bashing on Brady but he’s just not good at coaching in the NCAAT. Just be happy that LSU gets there.

you must not spend much time watching UK. They are playing better but will fold like a deck of cards when they're played physical.

ESPN.com has LSU matched up with Cincy in the first round (#6 vs #11)...would be sweet revenge if you ask me...

    Good stuff.

A little early to be pronouncing the All-SEC and how teams will do, just because even with 4 games left, you've really got to watch how teams are playing literally the week of or week before the tourneys.

    But, I'll play.

All SEC (based upon, as you requested, what I believe (and want), not what I think may be voted in):

    G - Darrell Mitchell
    G - Chris Lofton
    G - Ronnie Brewer
    F - Glen Davis
    F- Jemerio Davidson

My assumption is that All-SEC is not necessarily position specific, b/c I think the good guards/swing guys outnumber the good post players. In fact, really I don't think Davidson deserves to be in when you consider there are kids like Corey Brewer (FL) and Rondo (UK) also out there, but if you need a big man, he's one of the likely candidates. While I think Steele might be considered if you ask who is the best pure point guard, but his overall impact, statistics, etc., don't push him ahead of D.Mitch in my mind. It also helps that LSU is the SEC leader. I also think that Tyrus and Tasmin make the All-SEC freshman team, with Tyrus getting the SEC Frosh of the Year. I think you could make the case for Tyrus to be All SEC period, but I don't think that LSU will get three guys in.

As for how far can the teams go, it's totally dependent on the draws. I think actually that Florida will be alright this year and not flame out like they usually do. Florida and Tennessee have the best ability to advance the farthest, with LSU and Kentucky less likely. No SEC team stands out as an elite 8 team to me though, because of the inexperience--not to say that Tennessee can't get hot or Florida or the Tigers get on a roll. I think we get a couple of teams into the sweet 16 like last year (which ones? flip a coin)... and wait for next year for better overall results.

Right now, 5 teams get in... Tenn, Florida, LSU, Kentucky and Bama. Arkansas is on the bubble and assuming they have a winning record in the SEC, they're probably in (meaning they win 3 of next 4).

Successful NCAA teams have some pretty set criteria that, over the years, have been reliable:

    1. Draw/seed
    2. Strong (usually experienced) guard play
    3. Experience/Depth
    4. Coaching

    ...pretty much in this order.

One can make the argument that LSU will hurt in all but the first and possibly the second (assumes a, say, 22-9 record at end of SEC Tourney), as this record gets them a top 5 regional seed.

This team is already tired and a bit beat up. Barring upsets, LSU will struggle to get past the second round, as another high-seed with depth will wear them out.

This team just isn't "built to last" in a traditional, Tourney-successful sense. I'm good with anything but yet another first round washout, personally.
