Steve won 1 more game than last year's USC team..

Les won 1 more game than last year's LSU team assuming we win this week

So now, you tell me: How many hurricanes did Steve go through this year?

How many normal weeks of practice did Steve go through?

How many home games did Steve get pushed back?

This award is all Les Miles, but of course the media will give it to the Ole Ball Boy or whatever he calls himself

Based on what? Talent alone? You can't be that naive. It takes a lot more than just talent to win in the SEC.

The loss to Tennessee was a loss--period. Were Auburns losses all coaching meltdowns? The new defense struggled versus Tennessee and the offense underperformed. There were turnovers, penalties, poor kicks. All of the things that happen to players that are not mentally ready. The hurricane distractions, the moved games, and the lack of a cupcake opener all conspired to slow LSU's start this season.

But it has been 8 straight wins since then, against top competition, on the road and at home. Miles has this team in the top-5, still contending for national and conference championships, and headed for a BCS bowl game. If you are going to hold the coach solo responsibility for the Tennessee loss, then you must also give him solo credit for LSU's accomplishments since then.

You are not an effing genius today.

I beg to differ on the cupboard being bare. And boy the Cocks sure looked impressive against a very mediocre Clemson team.

I think Spurrier did a good job and brought stability to a crazy situation.

Les Miles had much more expected from him than Spurrier did. People at SC were going to be happy with just a winning record this year and a bowl.

LSU fans were expecting the West and SEC CG at the least.

Tenn. at the time we played them was a better team and had not melted down yet.

Do you think this Ark. team is the same that USC beat badly. I dont think so. They are playing better football because some of the younger players have gotten some game experience.

If LSU beats Ark and then wins SECCG i dont know how you give it to anyone but Miles.

Not that it matters because winning is what Miles is Judged by and say what you want about having talent but someone has to harness that talent and make it work.

See Tennessee for alot of talent mismanaged.

I am proud of what this LSU team has accomplished and overcome.

Lets take care of our business and see what happens.

The recruiting class is not 3rd, at least not by rivals. Where did you see them 3rd? This is a serious question I only know of the rivals site.

Rivals has us at 4th now, but we were 3rd before. But I believe we've still got a lot of commitments coming, so at the very least, we should maintain that position. Miles is a great recruiter and will keep the level of talent extremely high around here, much to the dismay of the remainder of the SEC. Bitches.:yelwink2:

LSU recruiting is currently ranked #3 by Rivals and #4 by Scout.

Miles has done nothing more than expected this year. If he wins the award, he can send the thank you card to Miami.

And it doesn't matter what his recruiting class is ranked right now. Let's see how he develops his own recruits into college football players. Hence the reason this award is for coach of the year THIS YEAR, not on the horizon or whatever it was that SabanFan said.

Spurrier did way more with way less.
