Do you believe that it's racist to say All Lives Matter?

 

One thing about BLM that I have noticed is that they don't seem to be very organized. If I've heard one person say they were one of the original founders I bet I've heard a dozen. On an organization level alone they are hurting themselves by not being more organized and focused with their messaging. This omission allows the fringe actors to have a voice and define their movement before they have a chance to. I thought the mayor made a critical mistake by allowing it to begin with. Plenty of ways to allow peaceful protest without it.

 

No I don't. That said, you can take any phrase and use it in a context that can confer any number of sentiments. I believe the BLM movement used that slogan because they felt that they didn't matter to some police. Taken out of context it is no different than the aforementioned. Thing is, our society has gotten to a point that we use these little trigger phrases and slogans like "Black Lives Matter," or "All Lives Matter," which are both true statements and twist them and pervert them until they are hateful instead of truthful.

 

i can support the 'didn't matter' context. i dont know what its like to have my vehicle seats pulled out looking for drugs, etc. etc.deriving from a routine traffic stop because its never happened to me, but there is overwhelming evidence it happens to disproportionately to blacks; most recently anecdotally by Sen. Tim Scott (R). In that context, i support black lives matter. OTOH, I will not support B.L.M. inc. as it is a Marxist led organization that advocates anarchy, and supports communism.

i'm not sure why this distinction isn't being made except for political expediency.

 

Just one of MANY she's made; the biggest of which was when she ordered the cops to abandon their precinct and gave it to those rioting animals. Who does that? I know it's been discussed to death, but it still infuriates me. At least she's got to bare the shame, if she even has any, of how she failed her city and it's people in front of the entire world. IMO, she should be brought up on charges.

 

I wasn't aware that they were an incorporated group. I was just looking for their web site or some information on their platform. Do you know what the web site is? I'd like to read their mission, etc.

When I think of BLM I think of police reform, essentially what you were describing at the onset of your post. Movements get bogged down when they start taking on too many reforms at once. I think their interests would be better served by focusing on police reform first and foremost.
