When the OM/LSU game came up this year, I saw a lot of ads such as this: "My favorite old rebel cap $500. I will include free OM/LSU ticket." Call SOB @555-5555. Or [email protected]
Man. I love college football!!!!!! I love it. I'm a rebel fan, but I can sit and pull for LSU in a heartbeat. When I go to Tiger Stadium and see a young man and his wife sitting with their young children, maybe a young girl dressed in a Tiger cheerleading uniform and a young boy with a LSU cap and jersey-or the same with OM colors-well---the col's heart smiles. It really burns my butt (and that takes a lot of fuel because of the extensive area) to think that this may come to an end because money talks and everything else walks.
I share your opinion, Col. Unfortunately this is one of those times when the good ol' free market system seems unfair. :dis: PS The "extensive area" comment made me chuckle....
Donations for tickets and scalping The law will allow you to take into consideration any donation you made to LSU or TAF when you sell tickets to sporting events. That being said, you should be able to sell your ticket above face value provided you can document your donation. You would need to prorate the amount so if your donation is $400 per year, your per game donation is roughly $57, so you should legally be able to sell a ticket for $93. Just in case you want to confirm, LSA-R.S. 4:1 governs scalping. Paragraph D lets you consider your donation and states as follows: "In connection with the sale of tickets to athletic contests of institutions of higher education, contributions or other payments in excess of the printed price requested by or made to the institution or to an alumni organization or foundation which is organized for the primary purpose of providing support to the institution and which has been recognized as an approved support organization by the board of the institution shall be allowed."
