of course they lied about him. the same way they lied about jessica lynch being a commando when she was ambushed and captured. she pissed her pants and never fired a shot. its what happens. we make heroes out of them because its better than the truth.
First of all I have to disagree, it was disrespectful. I dont think you meant it that way as you have said but that doesnt mean it wasnt disrespectful. Not saying you are evil. Simple mistake. Lets move on. Now...of course a person wants answers or questions their governments motives but these arent new questions. These seem like the questions a developing mind asks.....college student maybe? no disrespect by that. If you are a seeking answers to these questions you need to go ahead and accept that there are probably no pretty ones. i can tell you though, that this is not StarWars. We arent the deathstar and they arent the rebel Alliance. There are entire nations at stake. Governments EVERYWHERE do what they MUST to protect their interests and borders. Ugly things happen but there isnt an emperor twirling his mustache or shooting lightning bolts out his hands everytime our governments military is in the news. I dont know everything flabengal but one of the most important parts of my development as a person was realizing that I don't know everything.
Do you really believe that Cpl. Tillman uncovered something that the US Gov thought was so dastardly that they had to kill him? That is really off. Think about that. It was a screw up. I dont think there is any doubt about that. To say he uncovered some corruption and they killed him for it is absolutely ridiculous.
yeah, it was stupid of me. i was thinking that the subject of these marines dying in action, which is a loss for our country, would have some merit. i was wrong and should have known it would not be about that heroes gave their lives in service. call it blonde moment, stupidity, naivety, whatever. i was an idiot and should have known better.
Fine, I have no problem with that....as long as we can recognize that at times the gov't does not tell the truth. So if that is the case, then why is it unpatriotic to say that the Gulf of Tonkin never happened? WMD's, another bs line....is that unpatriotic? Have I disrespected the Iraqi war vets? Vietnam war vets? Bin Laden operation was another one....the man was on the run for nine years with bad kidneys. No way. Multiple sources said he was dead years ago. Then the US gov't claims they kill him, produce no body, no video, no pics and dump him in the ocean. And you believe that chit? A month later the Seal Team involved is killed in the deadliest incident in the entire Afghan war....and that doesn't seem suspicious to you? I'm amazed you people don't even think it should be considered as a possibility. You don't have to agree with me but the fact that most on this board just try to shout it down with these claims of "insert insult here" is really sad....
Plenty of people ask these same questions but there are no facts at our disposal. It is probably much less sinister than you think. Do you have any idea how much 22 elite SEALS are worth. Forget that they are actual humans with families, etc. 22 SEALS......hundreds and hundreds of millions. SEALS dont grow on trees. Our gov may do shady stuff but killing SEALS isnt one of them. 1) we dont know when Bin Laden was killed. Is he dead. Hopefully. Thats all i care about. 2) Is it suspicious that a helicopter full of soldiers was shot down ......in....a.....war??? no. It sucks yes. suspicious? not really.
I agree with this 100%. I don't know everything and I don't pretend to....that's why I find it helpful to hash out some ideas on this board every once in a while. But the more I watch the news, financial news, sports news, political news the more I am forced to come to the conclusion that if they say it is "so and so" on tv you can bet your ass it's not. Watch CNBC for a while. This supposed to be information for investors, right? Bullchit...it's propaganda from Wall St. designed to get more $ sent to Wall St. They will never to tell you to sell. Never. Bernanke.....said "sub-prime" was "contained.....wrong. Claimed gold is not money a few weeks back. Wrong again..... So I started this thread because I thought the Bin Laden raid was bs and I saw the report about Team Six. Period.
