I burned my tongue and the roof of my mouth with the glaze I made for ham. That **** hardened almost as soon as it hit the skin. Scotch sure does make it feel better...
This might be a stupid question to all of you connoisseurs, but since I am not "experienced" in scotch, whiskey, bourbon... what qualities makes a good scotch, whiskey, etc? I've had the obvious, Jack, Beam, and then other lower dollar rot gut types, but if it's not the sting, bite or whatever you call it, it's the nasty after tastes. Are these types of liquors basically the "You either Like It or You Don't" types? Or can you become accustomed to the taste?
I would suggest that if you already like something, like bourbon, try a high end product there first. It wll give you an idea of what the difference is without trying to acquire a taste for the product. Bourbon always leads me to Elijah Craig in a brandy glass, you just savor it.
