I did not go to LSU. I was born in BR and have followed the tigers for many years. I now live in AZ and my wifes family all went to U of A or ASU and they love LSU now. Thery are wanting to go to BR to catch a game to see what football is really like. Now with LSU having uof A and ASU on the schedule they say they will cheer for LSU.........
I wonder how many Yankees fans have never even been to NYC! Or any other team in any sport. You are a fan because you are a fan! Next time you are in Tiger Stadium ask around and find out how many rabid LSU fans never went to college anywhere. Don't let some dumba$$ bother you about stupid crap.
According to this years Sugar Bowl Program page 74, LSU has awarded more than 168,000 degrees since 1869. Do you really think that there have only been 168,000 Tiger fans since 1869?? Give me a break!!
I became a fan spending my summers, christmas and easter in BR with my dad and step mom. He lived in Pine Park out of Jefferson highway. I lived in L.A. with my mom. I went to Dale Brown's b-ball camp every year from 79-84, ran into tiger stadium thru the players entrance, went to many b-ball games with Macklin, Scales, Carter, etc. I have never even been to a LSU football game and I know I'm the biggest fan on the left coast. I've never missed a game that was broadcast out here and will always be a tiger. My wife and I plan on coming to a game next year so I'll be looking forward to partying with all of you!

LSU is a system...Board of Supervisors oversees all Louisiana State campuses, including: LSU - Baton Rouge LSU Law School LSU - Eunice LSU - Alexandria LSU Med/Dental/Nursing school in N.O. LSU Med/Dental/Nursing school in Shreveport The Board of Regents (I think) oversees the others: ULL ULM SLU Loyola Northwestern etc. The Board of Trustees oversees both sets. In short, you have a degree from LSU.
Don't let that bother you!!! Look, I'm not an LSU grad either. I went to USL....didn't go to LSU because they didn't have my major at LSU. Ever since i was a little boy, I had always wanted to go to LSU. I could have--got accepted and everything...but what was the use going to a school that didn't have my major? But that still has NOT kept me from bleeding purple and gold....from becoming a member of TAF....from making annual donations to the school....As far as I'm concerned, I'm one of the biggest LSU diehards out there!! and I'm PROUD!!! Well I am an LSU grad and being a student of LSU automatically makes you a fan. I like to get people that didnt go to LSU pumped up about the Tigers and converting them from Saints fans to Tiger fans. I have a best friend who didnt go to LSU who I made into a huge Tiger fan and pretty much my whole family are Tiger fans and none of them attended. My bro in law graduated from LSUS and he bleeds purple and gold like the rest of us. Dont sweat it, those people are ignorant.
Hell, if all of the Tiger Fans had graduated from any college there wouldn't be enough fans that could afford the tickets!
All major schools have fans that never went to the school. My friends father is an OU fan but he went to Central Oklahoma. Many people go to school close to home for many reason. Not everyone can afford to move away from home while in school.
StaceyO: That is right on target. I never attended LSU. I became a fan in 1969 while listening to a game against "Ole Miss". Everyone in the family room was for Ole Miss. I was a freshman QB in HS, and couldn't get over the fight in those tigers and I started cheering for them. I've been a fan since. Of all the LSU fans I know, only two graduated or even attended LSU. BTW - LSU has a pretty good fan base for the baseball team here in Iowa and eastern Nebraska and none attended LSU. You are a fan if you have the tigers in your heart.
