Driving around yesterday I saw gas had gone up to $1.85-$1.95 where it had been $1.75 or lower the day before. Trump should issue an executive order making it against the law to charge more than $2.00 for regular.

All of my trucks are 3/4 ton diesels. Typically $3 these days. They usually average about 14 mpg

Shouldn't you get better mileage with diesel?

No. They just have way more torque and are designed for Towing.

Also, 3/4 ton diesels usually weigh about six to seven thousand pounds.

Off topic but when I had a boat (22 foot fiberglass bay boat with Yamaha 200) I towed it with a half ton Chevy Silverado with a 350 Vortec engine. Towed OK but I could feel that the ride would be smoother with a bit more power. I thought about getting a 3/4 ton diesel but I didn't because the truck was also my daily driver and I didn't need rhat for any other reason.

Anyway I went to Grande Isle pretty often. It's about a 260 mile round trip. I would usually fill up at a nearby Exxon station or sometimes Texaco. I could make the round trip with about 1/4 tank left. A couple of times I used Chevron and when I did I would have to put more gas in around Raceland on the return trip in order to make it home.

Interesting. Sounds like they were selling some water gas, or you were driving a lot faster.

I saw John Boy tanking up at Ike Godsey's store for 20 cents a gallon.

He was a Walton. That's what they pay for it before they sell it to us.
