yep, and if they've got the smarts and work ethic, they can later transfer to a better school,.. a community college can be a stepping stone to mit

Next time I’m going under the knife, I hope the surgeon maxed out the SAT. Could not care less about the surgeon’s diversity score.

Based on my experience one can admit 100% with the worst diversity score. Without the exact factors that got them the score, they, or the vast majority, will fail. Yeah, there will be a few inspiring cases where one with a bad score will succeed, BUT THEY WOULD HAVE ANYWAY!

Kills the ones who work their arse off. Why go through it all if someone else can just waltz past you for no good reason other than crime happened in their hood, or momma was a welfare queen.

I heard the other day that a large high school in Columbus OH is going to stop naming a valedictorian so that nobody feels bad about it not being them.

I read that too. Out here some schools have several valedictorians. In fact, a rival high school where I know a bunch of kids, confers valedictorian status on any student with a cumulative GPA of 4.0 or better over the 4 years. They get a medallion and a different color robe. I know 4 valedictorians there, lol.

There's only 1...too bad so sad if you aren't it but the school should darn well acknowledge the student who is.

Not sure if they have one. I do know the official valedictorian who will be speaking at graduation though.
