That downgrade lasted about a minute. Final score was indeed a 7.1. The one Thursday is now considered the foreshock to the one last night. Is there a big difference between 6.9 and 7.1? I guess that's relative to a point but the resulting damage can be quite considerable. Each point increase on the Richter is the equivalent of 10x the magnitude. So if my math is correct, that's a 20% increase in magnitude. Compared to Thursday, last night was significantly bigger and rolled a lot longer. Sometimes they are a loud jolt, sometimes more rolling. My dog is a very unhappy camper. This is a road in Trona, near the epicenter....Thursday This morning... This liquor store lost a ton of booze. https://twitter.com/zomo_abd/status/1146843583988658176
I just heard the audio from the Dodgers game. The announcers were aware of it and one was astounded that it lasted 45 seconds. The fans in the stands knew there was an earthquake going on and reacted to in. The players on the field didn't feel a thing and kept right on playing until the ump stopped the action.
As I wrote earlier, I was watching the game and I didn't see the umps stop the game. The center field camera was swaying all over the place. If the players couldn't feel that I'm amazed.
I just assumed that the umps would stop the game. They stopped the Pelicans-Knicks gsme in Vegas and cancelled the rest of the game.
And there was another game going on adjacent to the arena where the Pelicans were playing and they continued. I'd bet more than a dollar that Doris shit in her pants. She certainly conveyed that on camera. And the pbp guy was literally praying to Jesus on air.
The announcer at the Dodger game described what was happening so dryly and matter of fact that he might as well been announcing an intentional walk. After that he said he had been born and raised in southern California.
