Salt Water Fishin'!!!

    Yep, this whole damn Sportsman's Paradise forum is really making me homesick. Especially posts like this one! Man I love tuna fishing out of Venice.

    I grew up in Nawth Louisiana fishing fresh water for bass and bream. There are bound to be some decent fishing lakes in North Texas.

    There are a few. However, I have always preferred salt water. I like the smells, the sounds, the vastness of the open water, the quantities that you can catch, and, most significant, the fact that salt water is 90% of all the fishing that I have done. I take my 11 year old fresh water fishing here, but it's not the same as big game out of Venice.

    I just had a heck of a week at work (and its not done yet) So far I've caught 1 bonita tuna, 3 Greater amber jack the biggest topping at 4 ft and caught a Cobia (Ling, or Lemonfish) Today 44in 35 lbs

    Not all weeks are as fun as this one haha, but the good days outweigh the bad in a BIG way

    Man I wish, where I'm at they come around rarely, that pic is only the 2nd one I've caught. One was swimming around this week but he's smarter than the average ling I guess lol
