That was actually Tirk. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease don't turn this saltwater fishing thread into a pickle kissing thread........That would be blasphemy.
just for you, cs, i'll be serious. how was the sushi? was it noticably better being THAT fresh? although i guess since it didnt have rice, etc, it was technically sashimi. but still, whatever name you want to give it, you cant get any more fresh.
Here's a cool video on CNN of some kids that chased down a waterspout on Lake Ponchartrain. http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/ireports/2009/05/19/vo.irpt.waterspout.cnn
I did the "fresh" sushi thing once with a nice YF off the Lump. After a freezing cold ride out there, you quickly forget how warm that water is even during the winter. I prefer to do Ceviche and let the good stuff chill for later. If you are close to Venice, consider yourself very lucky. I grew up fishing and hunting down there and its hard to imagine a better place. Trolling a huge rip in the summer, blast-and-cast in the fall, and hand feeding 150+lb YF in the winter. Tough to beat.
