It is great for the homers but don't put your life on the line agreeing with their assessment of calls against the Saints. There was no make up call on the holding penalty.
Looked to me like Corey Webster just got his feet tangled up with Colston on that pass interference call... the Saints radio announcers pointed out that the refs must have been claiming that Webster just wasn't trying to play the ball... but, like the annoucer from the Bama vs South Carolina game last night (I think that was it) was saying... pass interference is one of the hardest calls to agree on in football... what pass interference is to one person isn't pass interference to another. And like I said, the Saints radio announcers agreed with the TV annoucers that Vilma's roughing the passer was clearly roughing the passer... helmet to helmet. But yeah, being that they agreed the roughing the passer call on Vilma was legit, it was homer of them to call the pass interference on Webster a "make up" call, but nothing wrong with being homers while calling the game for Saints fans :thumb:
That is exactly what I was pointing out. Nothing wrong with being homer on a local broadcast but don't bring it to the bank. On replay, Webster turned and looked at the ball before they were tangled.
This call could go either way. Either down by contact which will be hard to overturn given the views or a touchback.
Basically, the Saints announcers thought the call on Webster was not a good call, which is why they called it a "make-up" call... but yeah, you're right, that doesn't make sense that they said that being that they agreed with the roughing the passer on Vilma. Did you think the pass interference call on Webster was legit or not? I didn't. But like I said, I'll take it.
