Let's see if he makes the team or if they cut him like last year's wasted draft pick...Taylor Melhaff. I DO NOT agree with wasting picks on punters/kickers. There's a reason every school has one of each but only a couple get drafted every year...and most of the punters/kickers in the NFL were undrafted players. Get them in free agency. If you're gonna cut a draft pick, let it be a position player you needed, not a friggin punter/kicker who does nothing but kick and punt all day. B.S.
Man, this is old news for us. We are the saints do we not forget that the Saints are the only team to ever draft a kicker in the first round (the 11th pick at that) Remember that. Mr. Russell Erxleben in 1979.... WE are the Saints !!!!!
one currently, active polish kicker would call bs on that. and he was drunk on bourbon street when drafted. still there months after the NC game.
Wasting draft picks on kickers isn't the only thing they have in common. Notice they seem to be picking very early in the draft almost every year also.
I think Payton desperately needs a good punter on the team...to kick him in the azz when he gets an impulse to call a boneheaded play or to trade up to draft another punter he doesn't really need !! What you say Herb ??
