    Would you rather the Mississippi State draft pick as backup? Jameis could at least push the rookie to work harder fighting for that spot.

    The cowbell will be stashed on practice squad this year. Then assuming Hill proves his potential to be the successor, cowbell will be the successor to Hill's swiss army knife role.

    Payton said last year that "Brees' successor is in our QB room now." Since they didn't even try to resign Teddy, and since Jameis wasn't in the room at the time, he obviously meant Hill. The only ?? now is who will be the safety valve veteran to play in case Drew gets hurt again and we're not ready to go to Hill. Does Winston feel like that guy? Talking about a guy who threw 30 ints last year.

    He has also been productive at times. Plus we’re talking about a 3rd/4th choice option and he was cheap. If he performs well enough to make the team. Seems like a good insurance plan to me.
