Shut up, Dummy. You are talking through your ass, and your opinions mean nothing around here. You have a grand total of three posts. When are you going to contribute something worthwhile around here? And for your information, most high-achievers in life are indeed "self-centered egotistical jerks" because they demand excellence from themselves and everyone around them and get nasty when they don't get excellence. How many General Officers have you known? Well, I've met a few. I think that we can agree that these men are high-achievers, and let me tell you, most of them are fairly self-centered, egotistical and can be real jerks. Vince Lombardi himself was known to be nasty at times, too. At three posts, you are unproven. I'll bet that you are a mole sent here by the Green Wave Special Intelligence Unit to Undermine LSU Tiger Morale. You must have fishheads in your cranium instead of brains. :dis: :geaux: :lsug:
If this is supposedly a forum; why is Mr. Lafitte trying to hush one of us up. As far as the reference to Tulane; any one naming a team after a nauseous feeling should only expect to see that in their play. Green Wave implies a bilious vomitus which I actually think fits Tulane!
I never condone trying to shut someone up here but I don't think the Baratarian is doing so. He has paid his dues here and is only slapping a puppy who is peeing on the floor. These guys who come in with three or four insulting posts and then disappear are usually posers from our opponents. If you board a vessel badly, buccaneers may gut you with a cutlass.
The same people bad mouthing Nick Saban are the same people that would would be crying with us if he left. Your stupid comments about Nick leaving for the NFL, or any thing else like that is just rubbish. I believe him when he says he's not interested, he has also been upset when he hired certain staff members for his staff and they came and went like the wind. He wanted them here for a long term committment to this program. I'm not happy with HOW we lost yesterday but all this about bad mouthing and replacing Nick over one game is rediculous. Remember how looong it took us to get a good coach, We haven't had one this good since Arnsberger.
Self-centered egotistical jerks in history Here's a short list of self-centered egotistical jerks in history: Vince Lombardi Jimmy Johnson Bob Stoops Steve Spurrier Bill Parcells What do all of these guys have in common? You know it. I would take any one of them as LSU head coach - yes, (shudder) probably even "Darth Visor." I am very happy to have Saban as our coach, even if he is a self-centered egotistical jerk. I do remember (all too well) Archer, Hallman, and DiNardo. These guys always seemed to SAY the right things (especially DiNardo), but the proof is in the pudding. And I happen to like the pudding that Coach Saban is cooking up. He's developing a program, instilling a winning attitude, and going about it the right way. Much is good about the LSU program, and it's only getting better. This is a marathon not a sprint and LSU is on a great pace. Remember, we just signed the concensus #1 recruiting class and I look for more great classes in the coming years. That bodes well for this program's future. All is well with the LSU football program despite the game against the gators yesterday. LONG LIVE NICK SABAN!!!! :geaux:
You guys do realize Spurrier came to LSU, he wanted a coaching job and LSU turned him down before he went to Florida
you're crazy if you think I'm taking bait like that - I still think the SEC West is a 3-4 team race. 1) Auburn has the best overall record in the West at 3-0 2) LSU is the highest ranked team in the West at #10 (AP and coaches) 3) Ole Miss' SEC record is better than LSU's and they have a victory over the team that beat LSU. 4) Arkansas is still a great team and I have a feeling is not done determining the winner of the division. the only teams you can count out are MSU and bama . .
drc40: The Saban show you referred to if it’s the show that he answered why he was on Jackson about his kick-offs, I didn’t come away thinking he was laying blame on JA. He said; JA didn’t have that look of preparedness during warm-ups and when he fumbled he took him out, because his head was not in the game. This is similar to some folks that attend a church because they hear what they want to hear, not what they need to hear. I don’t care how much of a jerk or how self-centered Saban is? He has the results. Someone posted a short list earlier, and there is three in that list that would battle for being #1. The fact is they get results. Saban has continued to tell this team that the opponent is good, and are better than their record. The team (LSU) listens at first, but starts to think, this is the same stuff he says every week and goes out and helps the opponent beat themselves. For those of us with teenage children or college students, when they were toddlers, how many times did you say that is hot, don’ t touch it or you’ll get burned. What happened? They had to find out for themselves. You can try to be the buffer and protect them, but sometimes, you just have to let them learn the hard way. That is what happened Saturday. The key is to re-group, and learn from those mistakes.
Chuck, that was a very diplomatic post. I commend you for your tact. I agree that as of right now, the SEC West if far from settled.
