You are dead on about FightinTIGER here TE. Since LSU did not destroy Troy then he was not able to puff out his chest and show how big a man he is. You see, his entire self worth is based upon what the Tigers do. If they don't perform to his expectations, then he gets out of sorts and lashes out at the coaches and team for failing to validate his own existence. It's sad. Pitiful, actually.
LSU players leave early.... if that's true, why so? Mauck left because he was *old* (for a college football player) and ready to get on with his life - what better time than after a national championship. Clayton left because an amazing wide reciever wouldn't even look decent with all of our O-line and QB problems after Mauck left.
Great! We agree. You won't find a single comment in my post that is critical of Saban. I said I support this team heart and soul but they are not playing well. I simply stated the obvious. I do however reject excuses such as Why not. USC did last year. This LSU team is talented and it is not to much to have expected them to play better this year. So 4&5 star athletes are a detriment because they want things too easily as opposed to lesser athletes who are used to losing? I'm sorry I don't buy it. There are a lot of reasons LSU has struggled this year and some of them are reasonable explanations - lack of leadership, turnovers, inconsistancy at key positions, etc. But youth and super-talent are not reasonable explanations. That is what I take exception with, not the team or the coaching staff. It's the excuses!!
This is how a biased media works. It floats something that sounds terrible, but is in fact false, and people let themselves make impressions based on the fact that it's too awful NOT to believe. People would rather believe something bad about someone than good, because it gives them a reason to complain. Now, I don't know if Saban implicated Dinardo or not. But neither does anyone else. Even IF he did say something to spite Dinardo, I'd forgive it on the grounds that he's probably pissed off. He ain't perfect for Christ's sake. Give it a rest people.
I agree with this statement but those teams have had big time athletes for years. Part of what could be going on here is dealing with these guys, a gray area which LSU or Saban (minus his NFL days) does not have much experience with. Things will improve in that area over time I think. I totally believe that things will continue to get better in the near future. We've got the players we just need to get them on the same page with the coaches in order to be successful. Bashing members of your 'family' does nothing but cause tension and make yourself look bad, it doesnt help anybody.
