I saw Saban calling out his team yesterday. I'm not sure that works too well in the NFL. It's easy to scare and intimidate college players for 4 years, but not so with players who have an equally large paycheck as the coach. It'll be interesting to see if they regroup after the tongue lashing or they quit on him.
Couldnt say it any better myself. Saban wants to be an NFL coach or he would still be here at LSU. :helmet:
No way he ends up back at Michigan State. He's built quite a reputation on the collegiate level that he could have his pick of the "big boys".
He did a lot for LSU and I have a lot of respect for him, other than that....take your pick::hihi: LSU FOOTBALL UNDER NICK SABAN...... 4 Bowl Games (Peach, Sugar, Cotton, Sugar) 1 National Championship 39 Wins 13 Losses 75% Winning Percentage 2 SEC Championships 2 BCS Bowl Appearances 3 Straight "Major" Bowl Appearances 32 National Television Appearances 6 First Team All-Americans 2 National Scholar Athletes 3 Academic All-Americans (2 different players named 3 times total) 18 Tiger Stadium Crowds Of 90,000 PLUS 12 NFL Draft Picks 3 Top Five Recruiting Classes 1 Number One Ranked Recruiting Class ('03) Largest On Campus Crowd Ever For ESPN's Gameday (Georgia @ LSU, 2003) $15-Million Academic Center For Student Athletes
It wasn't meant like that, and if they follow the thread they hopefully they'll understand it's intended meaning- but thanks for the heads-up! :thumb:
You just can't come home after bing gone a few years. The point is that it is never the same. Everyone thinks that it was a magical time. It was a good run while Saban was here. But lets face it. We won the MNC because a lot things happen in our favor that Saban had no control over. Saban lost some games that should never have been close. But to think he comes back and things are going to be like you remember them is wrong. Chances are what you remember and what really happen aren't the same. Take the Billy Cannon run against Ole Miss in 1959. I've had people swear they were there and it happen in 1958, also there have been numerous people say it was '58 and can remember exactly where they were when it happened because they were listening on the radio. The point is, Sabin's tenure here was great. Not everyone is remembering it like it was. Remember it as a wonderful time, but your time may be better spent cheering for what you have instead of trying to remember a better time and hoping for it's return. Because it ain't going to ever come back and be like you remember it.
