If my hunch is right, I have a feeling when the whole story is evident and NS's plan is visible, people are going to have even less respect and more hatred for him due to the fact that he has been planning some very calculated moves. He may have been involved in some illegal contact situations but we'll find out soon. I hope he doesn't rape us with recruits this year and don't think he's not trying to as we speak.
The hatred will mainly come from us, the national picture will die down very quickly and be forgotten. The negative publicity will have little impact with recruits. We are not giving enough credit to Saban. Sure he is now on our chit list and I am despising how things are turning out but to say this is going to hurt his recruting or he cant take Bama to the top is foolish. Saban is assembling what looks to be a killer staff and Bama is no slouch. They have enough history to use as a recruting advantage along with Sabans reputation and a strong recruting base in alabama, tenn and mississippi. I said from the start that this could be what awakens the sleeping giant. Just look at their history and what was done with even a half decent coach, Stallings. They won like 70 games in 7 years as well as a couple SEC titles and a NC. We woul be fools to downplay what bama and Saban can accomplish. Lets just keep our house in order and extract some payback against Saban when we play them.
That is the single most objective opinion that I have seen anywhere since this started. Try not to let it get out, I would rather that everyone totally dis Bama and continue to regard us as irrelevant. It does feel good to be universally hated again.
I agree. Jimbo has stated many times that he is waiting for the best possible Head Coaching vacancy for him. I can understand why he would take the FSU job if they guarantee him the HC job after Bowden. But, why would he want to go to Bama when he continuously proves himself at LSU. Fisher doesn't need to prove that he can help rebuild a program with Saban for teams to offer him a HC position.
I really don't care where JBF goes, just as long as he....... goes. I've never liked him as a play caller. He may be a good QB guy or whatever but in my opinion he has always had the LSU O at half throttle. I read in an earlier post, maybe on another thread, that he has been runnng the same 10 plays since 03. Sure seems that way, and yeah before you start with the, "at least they are working" true. They do work, however, with a little more creativity we would have had a different outcome in the Au game. Let him go, it won't be hard to find a quality replacement. My $$ is on him going to FSU so he can take over as HC when Poppa Bowden steps down. They are really close friends.
