Here's what you have to consider. There are relationships built with the players that will allow them to speak, but it won't be to the media (as in public). You have to consider even though the practices were closed this last season I knew how they were going... As far as the assistants, the media comments are in the same situation...BUT, one of the coaches hired isn't new to Alabama and has always been an extremely great source for information.
Crimson, I too am from Morgan City and I'm pretty sure that I know who you are and where you live, . I know exactly what you're talking about when you say that the LSU fans around here tend to think little of Miles. On the other hand, I have been behind Coach Miles 110 percent and I get blue in the face trying to convince fellow LSU fans that he's a great coach. Saban, is also a great coach, but I'm not going to miss him. I hope that he can bring Bama back to where they used to be. Even if he does, it won't matter because CLM is one helluva coach and it doesn't matter who the coach on the opposing sideline is! :geauxtige
Hey, JayB. Glad someone knows I'm not lying about the fans in MC. It is odd, isn't it, that the man is not well thought of in spite of two 11-win seasons. Yeah, if you've seen my li'l crimson Dodge truck in the driveway, you know where I live. A fella in our newsroom (I work for the Daily Review) said he thought he knew you. Anyway, I appreciate the affirmation of my previous comments. I'm looking forward, also, to a renewed rivalry with LSU . . . and Auburn and Tennessee and . . . . . . LSU!
Dear CrimsonPirate, Thanks for posting here with your question and I thought it was a good one. It made me think of the Sam King article in Sunday's paper, and I have provided the link. It both acknowledges your statement and answers your question completely. http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/lsu/5111616.html
Thanks, Robb. I had not seen that. So, Sam's saying it would have been okay with LSU fans if Nick had left the Dolphin for, say, Stanford or Purdue? It's that he left Miami for Alabama who is, as King said, a major rival. I understand what Sam's saying, but I don't know how major the rivalry is. That we're in the same SEC division makes the rivalry big enough, but I'd bet that, if such a thing were possible, Alabama would trade a loss to LSU for wins over both UT and Auburn. 'Course, living here in Morgan City and having so many LSU friends, it really helps me get through a year if we can beat you guys. It's a HUGE rivalry for me.:hihi:
