Who knows what to believe these days...especially with Saban. This morning I was talking about our new OC when a friend of mine started talking about his conspiracy theory. He was discussing how he thought Jimmy Sexton had worked out a deal with Alabama to fire Shula and then hire Saban. To cover their tracks they brought in Rich Rodriguez knowing that the deal would not happen. Now normally I would just laugh but the guy was serious and the funny part is he's originally from Alabama and also a big Bama fan. He didn't really care how Saban got to Alabama as long as it meant W's. (That same thinking is what landed them on probation.) I think it would be hilarious if Saban took the Chargers job. San Diego has no fan base, never won a championship in anything, has lost two NBA teams (Rockets, Clippers) due to a lack of support, has a weak MLB franchise, and has been on the verge of losing the Chargers for years. If they would spend more time studying game film instead of taking steriods and practicing stupid celebration dances, they may still be in the playoffs. Marty didn't drop the passes, fumble the ball, or get the stupid personal fouls. The players don't need to blame the coach or the Pats, they need to look in the mirror to see the problem.
Marty Has tried repeatedly to get more pull with his team....The GM will not give it to him....He wanted drew Brees but the GM and owners ditched him! Marty knows football but he has a rocky relationship with the GM, I think Marty will not be with the chargers after this weekend! With that being said, Nick Saban is not gonna leave on Alabama....he doesn't wanna be in the NFL!.....Especially a team like San Diego with players that won't take his BS! Dictator Saban
San Diego just broke a playoff record with their latest defeat against New England....I think it was 74,000! Do you think a bunch of New England people were at that game?...NOT San Diego has a great fan base, the only reason why fan base is in question is because they get so close every year and every year they get their hearts broken.....
That would be one of the only teams that Carroll would go to, but not gonna happen because Carroll has the dream job of college coaching....recruits,money, and respect!
No, Carroll will only go back to the NFL if he has total control. But, with the success of AJ Smith, the Chargers GM, there's no way Carroll would be given the absolute power he craves. Smith is the one who traded away Eli Manning for Philip Rivers, Shawn Merriman, and another player I can't remember right now.
