Why feel uneasy about it? Do you really expect him to stay 20 years? Man, he has already stayed 4 years (3 more than some expected) and put us in the MNC game! I am one happy camper and a Saban fan for life even if he hauls butt for the NFL on January 5th.

He is a man who like challenges. Being an NFL head coach is certainly a challenge. Why should you expect him to make a statement limiting his future? I would have been shocked if he WOULD have made a statement limiting his future choices. If he gets tired or bored with what he is doing, I have no problem putting up a statue of him at LSU and telling him good luck.

He was just being honest. He said that he might be interested in the NFL someday but right now he's happy at LSU.

I don't think coach Saban is going anywhere. The number of NFL coaching vacancies are very telling. Owners want to win yesterday. If you don't produce immediately you're gone.

Coach Saban will be rewarded very nicely for his services here and LSU is very stable. Coach Saban knows he can win regularly here at LSU and build a dynasty all the while accumulating a very comfortable financial package.

Maybe I'm naive but I don't think coach Saban is going anywhere in the near future.

Saying he'll never leave would be kissing his nice fat contract offer goodbye.

    (Paraphrasing)

Rome: Would you EVER leave LSU for the NFL?

Saban: Well I can't say that I would NEVER EVER want to coach in the NFL, but for now I am happy at LSU.

agreed, he was simply saying that things may change, but for now he is very happy at LSU. Stoops answers these questions in the exact same way and I don't think hes leaving OK either.

You know what would be a real kick in the teeth. If Stoops, Carroll, and Saban all left the college game for the NFL. There are going to be like 10 spots open, and all 3 have had their names floated around ESPN for weeks regarding these positions. It won't happen, but if it did . . .

I honestly don't think any of these coaches are going anywhere. Saban and the rest have a pretty good deal going on right now. All 3 are at good div 1A schools, with good support from the school, boosters, and fans. And they all make a pretty good living coaching in the college game.

My question is . . . where in the hell are all these NFL owners going to find 10 quailified NFL coaching canidates?

Most obvious guess would be from the other 9 fired coaches, Fassel to AZ, Reeves to SD or Oaktown

    Bingo!

What do you expect Saban to say ... I sure he's got an IQ bigger than his shoe size ... I'd like to see him get $3mmusd after a big win ... just blow away Stoops and reward him with a deserved pay hike ... he'd "never" go to the NFL & put up with that shittt if he had DOUBLE what he's getting now.
