No way that anybody tells Nick Saban how to do anything. That is why it (I hope) it has to be him. The program needs the coach that is the first chapter in a new era for Bama. CNS could be the the (for lack of a better term) last shovel full of dirt on Bears' influence at Bama. It is way past time.
Bring it. Giving CNS full credit for the recruiting improvements during his short tenure with LSU is stretching it a bit, IMO. Defensively , yes, but not for the whole program. For those that say that "recruiting" was CNS's strength, you're being myopic. Nick was an impatient recruiter, not bad, but certainly not great. It's not going to happen, but if Saban went to Bama, it wouldn't strike fear into Auburn fans. For one thing, CTT has a winning record against Saban. For another, Alabama has rarely outrecruited anybody significant unless they had a few "advantages" in their favor. It's much more a level playing field these days, and the results are obvious. My personal opinion is that Nick Saban would be good for the conference, regardless of what program he decided to run, including Alabama. I can certainly understand how some LSU fans feel about the matter, but I don't think Auburn fans care one way or the other. I mean, once you get past the drama that is the Alabama Head Coaching Search, it really isn't going to matter much who they hire ....... it's still the same BOT, REC, and meddling boosters that the HC must politically manage, leaving far too few hours for something like football.
Well, you did that for Dubose, Francione, Price, and Shula, too, didn't you? Nobody has ever accused Bama of being cheap.
