I gotta think that even if Saban is fired, he will wiegh the other HC jobs in the NFL, before even thinking about returning to CFB. I may be way off base here, but I believe that he still wants to make his mark in the NFL. If he does decide to go to Bama, even with a large buyout clause, he won't be there long. JMHO.
I agree Saban is a great recruiter…..however I don’t believe he is going to be able to waltz into a state and “take over” where there is already a proven coach out-recruiting Alabama. That’s what drew Saban to LSU…there was no in-state competition for the recruits as there was in Michigan….and let’s face it, Auburn has become the premiere football program in Alabama….at least for now! As far what he can do to hurt LSU recuriting......I wouldn't give him that much credit!!!!! (and hey, I'm of fan of old Nick)
It seems unlikely to me that the Dolphins would fire Saban after only two seasons. That's not enough time for a coach to prove himself.
I agree with you. I just think it is inconceivable that Saban leaves the NFL anytime soon, especially if the BAMA rumors has his stock so high. But go check out the Bama boards tonight. They are going ballistic, and on a high note that St Nick is on his way.
2007 - Bama Top 25 Gibson and Murphy will go to Bama. 2006 - Bama Top 25 Bama 9. Auburn 8. 2005 - Bama Top 25 Bama 8. Auburn 7. 2004 - No info 2003 - Bama Top 30 Bama 12. Auburn 5. Keep in mind Bama was on probation for most of this. Nick recruits well...it wont change.
CNS could be hell to deal with at Bama, no? He brought national attention to LSU and was an incredible recruiter. I think that his national image is larger than ever and would bode well for Bama recruiting. We have spent monumental sums of money to make sure that everything is in place for the next HC to be extremely successful.
Too bad your meddling BOS will screw that one up for you if Saban arrives. It'll be an ego battle for the ages.
