Tell me this...how much would Saban's less-than-honest games hurt recruiting once he gets to Bama? Would you trust him as a recruit? Hell, I wouldn't trust him for anything at the moment.

    Consider this:

The last time Nick coached against LSU, Gerry DiNardo beat him like a drum.
Nick looks burned out. Be careful with the people you meet on the way up Nick, they are the same people ya gonna meet on the way down to Bama.

How much respect does Nick lose from his so called NFL peers if he goes to BAMA? The press will have a field day.

Oh, heck, Saban knows that people are thinking what you are thinking . . . that's why it's unlikely that he bolts for Bama . . . it's just too soon to quit.

    Now, if he is fired . . . .

. . . . then I say he takes the New York Giants HC position, because, Tom Coughlin is TOAST, unless he wins a playoff game this season.

Good point, If he is fired there will be plenty of opportunities in the NFL. Giants could be a dream job but not sure how much control they would offer.

Dont forget that the Atlanta job might be open too. I hear rumors that if they need a coach next year they will contact Weis but this is just a rumor so who really knows.

It is interesting to me that the Atlanta Falcons may be interested in Charlie Weis as HC, because, guess what . . . the New York Giants may also be interested in Charlie Weis as HC. Why? Because a lot of folks up here near NYC believe that Tom Coughlin needs to be fired because the team no longer listens to him AND because Eli Manning is struggling.

What better coach can you think of to develop Eli Manning's QB skills? I can't think of anyone better than the guy who developed Tom Brady with the Pats. The Giants invested very heavily in Eli, and, the franchise cannot afford for Eli to be a bust. Given that, I'm guessing that the Giants might be very interested in luring Charlie Weis to NY to be HC of the Giants.

This kind of move makes sense to me. Eli is struggling. He is not improving. He has not improved from last season. The Giants would be wise to get Weis ASAP, because, if Eli struggles again next season, the Giant fans and the NY media will treat Eli very harshly.

So during Xmas at my aunt's in Baton Rouge i'm talking to my uncle about the saban-bama rumors. He's not one to fan the flames, but he has some golfing buddies that are big-time Tide supporters ($$$) and they are positive that Saban is Bama-bound and Jimbo is gonna follow him there.
I called bulls%#t and he just told me to remember where i heard it from when it all goes down.
Personally, i still find it hard to believe. It's no secret Saban has a golden corral buffet-sized ego, and I don't see him bolting Miami without first achieving some level of success. His teams haven't been that bad, and who knows what he could do if he had a decent quarterback. I mean, Cleo Lemon was taking snaps last night, for christ's sake.
In a perfect world, I see Saban trading up to get Jamarcus in the draft and together they unleash hell on the AFC.
My biggest concern should Saban return to the SEC with Bama wouldn't be with him stalking the Tide's sideline. I think he could do some serious damage to LSU recruiting for the enemy. He retains a god-like persona in the state of Louisiana, and I can totally see him sneaking into our state and running off with some of the best talent.
I had already heard that he was the "King of the Living Room", and after reading Michael Lewis' book "The Blind Side" (which is freakin awesome) I have no doubt. The book devotes extensive pages to an inside look at Saban in the home of super-recruit Michale Oher (LT at Ole Miss). Compared to Fulmer and Orgeron, Saban is a master at his craft. (In the book, Oher nearly comes to LSU in spite of having his adopted parents as Ole Miss alumni/boosters).
I'm rambling...but I seriously reccomend this book to all college football fans.

I bet Saban regrest leaving LSU for the Dolphins job. I understand he wanted the new challenge after winning national title in college. On to new and better things. Despite that, Im kind of glad to see he isnt doing well, although part of me wishes him well for what he brought to LSU. He left a great situation here in comparison to where he is now. Id bet that if he could go back in time knowing what he does now he would still be at LSU.

The biggest reason that I thought Saban would stay at LSU is because I knew that he was successful because he was a teacher. He had a certain something (discipline) that he instilled in his players that showed on the field and off. It allowed his style of football to live out it's fullest potential. I knew that his teaching skills and discplined style would not go over nearly as well in the NFL because of all the money and egos. I assumed that he knew this, having prior experience in the league. But he evidently didn't aniticipate it being a problem. So it wasn't surprising to hear the talking heads say that he missed teaching during the game last night.

I don’t believe he could be as successful at Alabama as he was at LSU.
One, TPTB at Alabama aren’t going to allow Nick do it his way…..i.e. clean house of the controlling alumni and meddling politicians. (we know what a control freak Saban is)

Also, Alabama’s biggest problem isn’t finding a coach…their biggest problem is a man across the state by the name of Tommy Tuberville. TT is going to out recruit ANYONE who comes to Alabama. TT has the state locked up in recruiting, thus leaving Alabama with leftovers each year.

Sorry Krewerider. I disagree. I think Saban's strength is recruiting (and defensive philosophy) and will nail Tuberville on some in state recruiting. My fear, as stated so well above by geauxsethro is that his recruiting tentacles will overlap ours.

Perhaps Saban will stay one more year in Miami and return to college in another division.

Also, one could add Pittsburgh Steelers to the pro equation of where he might end up. Much closer to West Va, his roots.
