I think that CNS would do a wonderful job at Bama. We do have an open spot for a statue, you know. I hear that the plan is for Saban to do 5 - 7 years at most and then Jimbo will become the next HC at Bama.
I would be interested to see exactly what the over-under on the amount of sacks Jason Taylor would log against Ciron Black. Jamarcus would be lucky to get a pass off. I'm guessing 15.
I hope you get the coach that you want: Saban. We will beat your butt no matter WHO is the coach. Of course, Bama will win their fair share of games no matter who is the coach, but, make no mistake . . . when the LSU Tigers take the football field, they will be fired up and ready to, as you say at the Capstone: BEAT THE HELL OUTTA YOU! Nick Saban is just a broken down, burned out, beaten NFL coach right now. When and if the LSU Tigers ever see him in a crimson sweater in the sidelines of the gridiron, the LSU Tigers will see, not a coach, but, rather . . . TIGER BAIT  :crystal: LSU! PS If you get Nicky, he'll get a rude awakening . . . it ain't that easy to win two NCs as a SEC coach. PLUS, you will be the one wondering at the end of EVERY SINGLE SEASON whether or not Nicky will stay at Bama or fly again to greener pastures and a new job . . . . . . fly fly fly little Nicky . . . fly fly fly little Nicky . . . :hihi:
Why does Saban act surprised when reporters keep pressing him about this issue? The man needs to look no further than the way that he went out here. Of course no one is going to believe him. He constantly danced around denying the issue, then he bolted on Christmas night, after he had carried his ass off to Florida for the bowl game. He obliterated his credibility with that fiasco. And he doesn't deserve to have people believe him. You make your own bed, bud.
I don't know why Saban is considered a great coach. He came here and had a few winning seasons and backed into a National Championship game. Sure he did well but so has countless other coaches around the country. He did no better than the best coaches in the college game now. Why does Bama think he would be even close to sucessful with a program that has a bunch of meddling boosters anyway? Rodriquez saw the writing on the wall and knew it would be suicide to coach at Bama...I think Saban sees the same thing.
Agreed! And, to add fuel to the fire, here are two events that happened in the last 24 hours: 1) last night, Saban announces to the world that he misses coaching in college 2) today, Saban cancels the normal after game day press conference. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Saban and Sexton will welcome the opportunity to listen to Bama's offer. This is the Sexton philosophy, and we all know that. My own personal hunch is that Saban will seriously consider accepting the job offer. These are my own thoughts on the matter at the moment.
To the chicken sh*t coward who gave me red for this post, I say to you COME OUT AND FACE ME LIKE A MAN, you little girl. YOU COWARD! Just to let you all in on it . . .this complete COWARD gives me read for this post, with the comment "Dream on". But he refuses to tell us who he is! What a complete coward!!
That would seem to be the nature of the beast these days. CNS would be the homerun that Mal supposedly is swinging for. I don't believe the amounts of money that have been bantered about concerning CNS. I do believe that should he decide to come to Bama, he will become the highest paid college coach in the game. The interesting part will be the "buyouts" in the contract. Supposedly in the monumental range.
The "old" Saban hated buyouts. In his past dealings, Saban has always insisted on retaining mobility and options for the future. A huge buyout clause would be a deal breaker in the past, but, things could change.
