I perfectly agree with that. I am sure Prude must have felt bad about it already; no point in rubbing it in. Players are human too and unfortunately mistakes and miscues are made. Did he miss the play call from Muschamp? I like Prude because he also had some some excellent plays during the season.

A few notes from the postgame article in the Advocate. That last quote is a doozie in my opinion.

True to form, though, Saban wasn't making any excuses for his team.

"All the players know the signals ... so everybody needs to get the call and somebody didn't is what it amounts to," Saban said. "The (defensive) call was made quickly and decisively by Will and there wasn't nothing wrong with the call. But it's like every other call that you make. If you don't execute it properly and correctly, you've got a chance to get beat and that's exactly what happened."

Because Holloway stayed up, the Tigers were down as they walked off the field for the final time under Saban. Even he had a hard time masking his emotions.

"The disappointing thing here is that the last 14 seconds, 20 seconds tarnishes what a lot of good football players, the seniors on this team have been able to accomplish in their career here," he said.

"I feel badly myself that there's not something that I could do to help the players play better in this game."
