Saban just said Randall wasn't a very good QB.

I think he said that because LSU did not have very good play at the quarterback position.

If we are to fault Nick for that...How about Les Miles saying that he had to used lots of gimmicks on Defense at OSU due to the lack of talent. He said he won't have that problem here.

And he has to face those D players in the next day or two.

I bet they both regret saying those things.

    Interesting quote:

My wife usually sits in on those and just listens. Incidentally, she didn’t know what a first down was when we started dating when we were juniors in high school so she doesn’t call any plays or have anything to do with what goes on. When Eddie (Jones) and Wayne (Huizenga) left our house in Baton Rouge, (wife) Terry looked at me and said ‘if you fail on this one, it’s not going to be because of those guys.’ That’s the first time she ever felt that way and I ever felt that way. We feel like it’s a great opportunity.

Now, wasn't the buzz for those folks on the know supposedly, that Mrs. Saban was opposed to the move?

I think its wrong to assume he means marcus was not a good quarterback. If you dissect every sentence of every word of a coach, eventually you can find your own message.

I'd guess he meant he didn't get good play out of his qb position this year....that's simply from listening to Saban so long I don't think he was referring to one player in particular. But, I didnt listen to the PC either.

unless he names him directly, you're assuming. I have no bias either way, simply my guess as I stated. you state yours as fact. big difference.

FWIW, I listend to it several times and I think he said quarterbackS. Either way, I think it was an unnecessary slam at players he coached four days ago.

I think you are putting too much emphasis on his use of the cingular word "quarterback".

I think he was talking about the position as a whole, and not just one of the three QBs we had on the team. No matter what I think of Saban now that he has left, I seriously doubt he would intentionally single out Marcus Randall as the reason this team failed, when there were many instances when Jamarcus played as bad if not worse than Marcus did (Florida game for one).

just my take...take it for what you want.
