What has this lame post got to do with Saban staying at LSU You need to thrill 'em with your tunnel-vision liberal ideas on the Political Forum ... anyone who thinks Saban is not worth his green and more doesn't know dip ... Geaux run for governor against Blanco next term if you wanna save the world ... I say NUKE THE FUGGIN WHALES ... I just want to see LSU and Nick hoist another crystal or two
Happy Holidays, my Tiger Friend! Ouch, must have hit a sore spot… Sorry to disappoint, but I am a republican and always will be. In my trade, you never speak democrat. Go get ‘em W!!! :usaflagwa Considering that I am a resident of Kentucky and an official Kentucky Colonel, well that puts me out of the running of governor of Louisiana…Long live Huey P. Long! By the way, my wife helped on the Foster governors mansion, does that count? :hihi: Yes, I feel Saban is worth to a point…$2.3 million worth. Enough is enough. If you want to behold hostage by him year in/ year out, by all means support him. I am saying enough is enough. Have fun in Miami. Who gets the cut of the house when they leave? The TAF? Happy Holidays! ldskule:
I'll tell you why Tiger Stadium is getting a facelift, a new uper deck, new press box and new suites. It's because it is the engine that drives the LSU athletics department and is the only reason we can comply with Title nine. Without football there would be no programs at LSU due to the state not funding any sports. The Tiger Stadium renovation will more than pay for itself and is being done without a penny from the university. You keep mentioning other things on campus that need to be done and act like the Football program is taking money away from them, and just the opposite is true. And take away football and the LSU Academic Fund would dry up so quick it would make your head spin.
i think this statement supports an opposite view--that lsu fluctuated bad to pretty good during the archer-hallman-dinardo years because they were bad coaches. saban isn't a bad coach. but neither is/was arnsparger and several other coaches out there. lsu might sink without saban, but we can do just as well (or better if you get a guy who will stick around) with another coach. the question is do we have the people in place to find the right guy. i say hit the road nick if that's what you want. no hard feelings. and i'm comfortable with the future because joe dean isn't around.
Good point, but they need to distribute all that money evenly. The athletic dept. can not let the PMAC go in worse shape that it is in. I admit, the quality on the court is poor, but I also feel it has a lot to do with its atmosphere. :dis: The Box is not getting any younger as well. Come on, Ole Miss has a better baseball Stadium (condition) than LSU. Please, trying to compare the Box to Wrigley is two different things. By the way, they are both falling apart. You guys want to contribute your money that you earn to a football coach who is already making a ton (the most in college football), but not willing to put towards the institution or other athletic functions. Just a thought. Just my two cents worth! :thumb:
Renovations to the PMAC ongoing. Got It? NEW baseball stadium on the way. Got It? I wish they had a keep up button on here.
Like I said, the PMAC renovations are like a pig getting makeup. Went to several games over the Thanksgiving Holidays, was not impressed. Inside the arena has a long way to go. Bathrooms are terrible, concessions stands are worse than high schools gymnasiums in Kentucky. You guys talk like you want to hang with the Big Dogs in Basketball…well damn, starting spending and supporting like it! I will believe the baseball stadium when I see them break ground. I bet the athletic department is going to be spread thin for years with the upper deck boxes. Love the design, I hope it gets built, but heck, I been hearing for years that it will get done. Nice discussion. :thumb: :lsug:
All of our facilites are going to be great, except the PMAC, it will just be renovated. The PMAC's condition has absolutely nothing to do with how the basketball team plays, I'm sure the players could give a flip about that. Sure they would love to play in a giant, brand new arena but that isn't going to happen for a long time if ever, it won't payoff. Like I said, every penny spent on the football program will generate a return, especially the money spent on Tiger Stadium. The money spent of the new Academic Center and the Football Op. center will pay off in being able to keep competing for both coaches and players in the future, which is the most important ingredient in the athletics program. And without spending all of this money on tiger Stadium all other projects would never get off the ground. The suites will end up paying for much of the other facilites. And the Box and the new Softball Stadium are going to be a reality soon, watch. And one other thing about Saban and money. How much do you think he has been worth to the University, especailly if you look at it with the same perspective that emmert did. How much free national exposure has LSU gotten since 2000. How much added revenue over and above what we used to bring in pre-Saban are we raking in now? How much is it worth it in merchandise sales, ticket sales, TAF donations, concessions, enrolloment, grants, etc?
And we've got one helluva chancellor coming in to LSU Who will support LSU FB 300% until he goes back into politics  Saban deserves to get another raise at LSU ... and LSU deserves to have Saban remain its head coach ... Support a pay raise for Nick Saban ... because the future (good or great) of the program is at stake. 250,000 donations at $40 a pop to the TAF = $10MM USD ... enough to keep Saban here the remainder of his contract. Can you spell ~D~y~n~a~s~t~y~ ... or do LSU's dreams ... Of being THE DOMINANT COLLEGE FB PROGRAM ... ~D~I~E~ ~N~A~S~T~Y~
Good Points and well taken! All good points! Hope you are right. I hope he has decided to build that D~Y~N~A~S~T~Y! If it was me and I was guaranteed pension in the NFL, ownership, and a lot of jack, no doubt, I would bolt in a heartbeat. Like I have said, I don’t think we need to treat this guy like LSU football is the NFL. He is worth money LSU is paying him now. In my opinion he is not worth much more, but that is my opinion and you have yours. Trust me, in my line of work, we are selfish and greedy at times. Money talks and…well you know the rest. Well guess what, some large organizations got to greedy and it is coming to bite them in the _ _ _! I get you need to spend money to make money. But is it worth spending a lot more than the value. I still think he is going to at the podium in Miami announcing his intentions, but I would rather have him in Baton Rouge in the athletic building 6th floor making the announcement…time will tell. :dis: I still will not back down on my prior statements. People of Baton Rouge and LSU have bent over backwards for the man and his family…but when does it stop. I what happen with us at UK and Pitino, and some ways I see that side of Saban. Still catching the bus to Orlando? Geaux Tigers!
