True, maybe not a "traitor" in the true sense of the word, sorry..... I guess I am taking it personally. But, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth that he left LSU and is now coaching in the SEC West against LSU just two years later. It makes me feel that he had no loyalty at all to LSU the kids here.

I totally agree. Saban is a great coach. No one can deny that. He will turn Alabama around. But he needs to have people kissing his feet. As soon as they stop doing that in Tuscaloosa, he will leave. I suspect he will be there 5 years - six at the most.

oh i meant stroking--no spell check here. And to respond about JR leaving to the NFL I am ok with that. Ryan Perilloux needs to play and maybe he won't make bonehead decisions that sometimes JR had a tendency to make. Less this year and I know you can't be perfect but we sure need someone to be close to win the NC--we've got the supporting cast and the defense. Virtually mistake free quarterback is what the Tigers need to win it all and screw USC finally--they will probably beat us in the polls even if we trounce ND and even though they lost their championship game--oh that is not a championship game, just UCLA--is the BCS office in Pasadena?:geauxtige :champs: :helmet: :tigbas: :bball: :eek:ldskule:  LSU! :usaflagwa :911:

I hear Nick will hire Bobby Fischer to be his OC.

I wonder how many teams Saban has to burn before they finally quit courting him with jobs?

Hey, wouldn't it be great if tonight - after Jamarcus Russel has a stellar game against ND - he would announce that he's staying at LSU for his senior year, stating that he wants to "fullfill his committment" to his team?

That would stand in stark contrast to the example set today.

Well I dont blame Saban for not acknowledging his interest in the Bama job during the season and waiting for the season to end to take the jo

My problem with Saban is that he left LSU in a bad manner, I mean less than a week before the bowl game and late in the recruiting process.

Ok fine, I could understand that he wanted a great NFL job I mean increased pay and total control in the NFL, what more could he want?

But now going back to college, come on Nick, now you are on my sh*t list, I mean how can you expect your players to be committed to you when you have proven that you have not been committed to your players in your past two jobs?

So my point is this, I dont mind so much his lack of honesty as much as his lack of commitment to his teams, players, and fans.

So I for one will be sporting a "Go To Hell Nick" shirt when LSU stomps on Bama for the next several years, then Saban will go take another job maybe at Michigan or FSU when those jobs are available.

HAHAHA the nickname given to him by the emailer on Cold Pizza was appropriate. "Suitcase Saban" !!!! Well bama you are now officially on the clock as to how long it will take before the rumors start.

End of year 2 I should suppose we start hearing about who is courting Nick and his circus. Many people think this is his last stop and maybe it is but you just gotta think that what if a spot opens up at Michigan, Penn State, USC, or ND. Will he bolt one storied program for another.

Nope. To quote the scorpion in the parable (after stinging the frog, who was swimming him across the river, and resulting in both of their deaths), "I cannot help myself. It is my nature." Nick Saban's nature is to leave when a better job offer comes along. People at Bama will expect him to be the second coming of Bryant. When it's clear that he's not, and that the Tide will not dominate the way they once did, there's going to be A LOT of pressure on him. And someone else, someone "better"...say, Notre Dame...will come along to stoke his ego. And Saban will go, because that is who he is.
