Are we acting immature about Saban?

Nothing personal fellas. I'm just a little perturbed that people are quick to criticize Saban when he's not at LSU. He left on bad terms, and if he goes to Bama, he will continue to be on our bad side. Bur for crying out loud. The man did us a MASSIVE favor. He put us back on the goddamned map for heaven's sake. Talk about biting the hand that fed us, man.

He did nothing but good things for us! Everyone, it seems, is playing the "We were wounded by this money-grabbing jerk" card. The only thing that we can MAYBE hold against him was how he left. But jeez. 2 SEC championships and a national championship in 5 years? That's a pretty damned fair trade for a crappy exit.

Thank God we had Saban. Even if he is in it only for the money. He used us. And we LOVED it.

Re: Saban meeting with Alabama today. WH will not negotiate his Dolphins contract

He has no choice but to take the Bama job. The people of Miami want him out tonight. He basically made his decision already but lying.

Amazing the difference between us and Miami. They are screaming for him to get out now. He doesnt stand a chance in Miami anymore.

That's what did it for me the most too........I understand he was in a pickle but could have declined comment, several avenues other than saying, point blank that he wasn't interested and I seem to remember a reporter calling him on it and him saying he would not coach at Bama.......someone correct me if I'm wrong.

If Saban goes to Bama, he will be making just about what he is earning in Miami. His salary as the Dolphin's HC is 5 mil a year. Counting his signing bonus for going to Bama, that is just about what he will be earning in Tuscaloosa. So I doubt if money will be the reason for his jumping ship. If he decides to take the Bama job it will be because he has decided that, after two years, pro football is simply not his cup of tea. I have always maintained that he will stay in Miami because of the level of control he enjoys there. But if he is unhappy in the pro ranks, he could decide that control is not that important.

I think most of us are just intrigued with the entire story. Its like a soap opera.
Saban is pulling his usual stuff and this time his current fan base was his head on a stake. Different this time and the whole story is intriguing.

I think that is all, I know everyone I know could really care less if he goes to Bama. Its just the Story that is so fun to follow.

I think I see the hang up with this new offer of $40 million over 7 years.

...that's only $5,714,285.71 per year. Saban needs to get that rounded off so he can be the "6 million dollar man" for seven years... that also would round off to a nice flat $500,000 for each game in his 12 game schedule... some $8,333 per minute.

    ... less FICA, of course.

You ought to be listening to am 790, The Ticket. They keep playing CNS saying "I am not going to be the Alabama Coach", then they play Joe Kines halftime interview. It's hilarious! They say Joe Kines is the very reason they're willing to offer Saban $40 gabillion. They're trying to get Frank Caliendo to imitate Kines. www.790theticket.com

Yeh the 790 guys hate him and constant fans calling in saying we will help you pack.

However calling people from Alabama Stupid Rednecks then rip on Joe Kines was a bit below the belt and not necessary...
