Re: Saban to be offered 40-50 million contract...

Let Bama have him. Then, every November they'll have to put up with the "Saban's going to ________" talk. He's making himself look like a football wh*re. He lies directly into the camera. Why would the Bama fans trust him? And what if they pay him that kind of money (and obviously it will have a huge buyout) and he delivers 7-8 win seasons? They'll be the laughing-stock of college football...still.

Lets see, the Dolphins owe him 15 million if he stays for the last 3 years, or he could go to bama for $50 million over 7 years. Would not have to ever worry about going back to the NFL, he is set. If he doesn't live up to bama's expectation and they fire him, does he get all the money? That could cripple a program paying a buyout like that.

Does any one have an idea what the concession prices would be if this goes through? $9.00 bottles of water, $15 burger....... Will there be a Saban Surcharge on every ticket sold?

If his average is 7 million $$$'s, with 7 home games and an average attendance of 90,000 the Saban portion of the ticket\concessions alone would be $11.11 per game. (I know there are other factors, but lets keep it simple)

    Wow

Before Bob Stoops was hired, OK's revenue from football was $26.5 million, two years after he was hired there revenue went to $68 million. I am no financial expert but Bob Stoops is the current highest paid head coach in college football. I think he is earning his keep.

Why do so many people take whatever Saban does so personally? Damn, it's a JOB. A J-O-B. Hell, I'm a diehard Fins fan, and will be disappointed if he leaves, but no big deal.

Nick $aban has always been about two things.

    1. Himself.
    2. Money - Primarily money. Cannot blame him though who isnt.

However I am sure am enjoying the jerk Miami fans who came here two years ago to gloat.
The Bama fans will be saying the same thing in 3-4 years when he bolts from there for the extra few bucks offered to him.

Hey Miami fans, Join in line

That's right Bubbles, any rational person does what's best for him, not some idiot fans of another school that are too dumb to grasp the concept.

Because people always turn down promotions and job offers in everyday life. Ya know, they rather stick to a setting they are familiar with rather than make more money.

Now the real issue here, which I am shocked nobody has mentioned, is that this would raise the bar significantly as far as college coaches salaries goes. Bama should be ashamed to be offering (allegedly) so much to anyone.

Complacent people should not complain about people that aren't.

And yea, that's a pretty funny impact on salaries. However, the salaries will come back down after Bama's checks start bouncing.

Absolutely. One of the best shows of the last 10 years. I simply can't get enough of it.
