Well just the other day Miami Owner was quoted as giving a vote of confidence to Saban. So usually when this happens something is going on. Nick is not having things happen like he thought and wants to come back to the College ranks or Miami ownership has gotten wind of Nick interview with Bama and trying spin control for whatever may happen. Saban just strikes me as a guy that is always gonna be looking for the next big paycheck a few years down the road. I can't see why all the fans would want him back knowing he will put you through this every year B
So, if what you're saying is true, then why would Saban leave NFL riches behind for the job at Bama? We all know they have boosters that can "jack" a coach's salary, but it still wouldn't compare to what he is getting from Miami.
If it is true that he is interviewing or even interested, it's just another case of a college coach who couldn't make the transition to the NFL. Look at Pete Carroll. He'd be a fool to go to the AZ cruds when he is living like a king out here and doing well.
Well I have looked everywhere I could think of and I cant find a single source. Only incredible Fox10.:dis:
Agreed. Very thankful for what he did for the program but at some point you have to show some loyalty to the boss you have. Miami gave him the $$$$ and complete control, will he ever be happy?
I don't buy this story. A couple of weeks ago when his name was out there I really didn't buy it. This is his second season in the NFL, making what $5mil. No college will come close to that. He hasn't been in the NFL long enough to realize he can't coach NFL. I think he can coach in the NFL, I think he may need to adjust in how he handles players versus college players, but I think he is very capable. But I will despise him if he comes back to the SEC. But if he left the NFL after 2 seasons, I think he ruins his reputation for not being able to stay somewhere and no one (school or NFL team) will take a chance on him. The story is bogus.
No, he can't "have his job back here." Miles' job is not in jeopardy, and it's nice that we don't have to put up with, "Which job will Saban be interested in?" each year. Look, he's not even our coach, and folks are getting upset about his happy feet.
People are mad about him getting happy feet because they might bring him back to the SEC. We know the impact he can make in a college program and the brutal defense he brings to the table. Plus it just pisses people off that a coach who brought LSU out of the darkness and brought us to the national title then he takes off leaving LSU with very few options for coaches due to being so late in the year. Now for him to come back to the SEC 2 seasons after he stiffed us, will get people very mad.
As you know, I have been posting that Saban is a real threat to go to bama and has always been their #1 choice all along. The problem is that he does not want to quit on his team. The choice for alabama is do they wait for him to end the season (dec 31) or go with another coach. Saban is very interested in this job no matter what he is saying in the media and I stand my my sources on this. It is interesting that Rodriguez is Alabama's #3 choice. I have been told that Schiano is Bama's 2nd choice behind Saban. Rodriquez does have a $2,000,000 buyout in his contract. While that is not a big hangup, they have had discussions with Schiano and that would be their 2nd choice if Saban ultimately turns them down. I was told last Thursday that Alabama had given Saban a 7 day window to accept the job. Will be an interesting day. Also, why is it that we have the best offensive coordinator in the country and we are not clammoring to keep him. Anyone know how many players he has recruited that are on NFL rosters? 23... Gerry Dinardo's demise was when he lost his two coordinators.
