Re: $aban is After Joe McKnight

I hadn't noticed but not trying to side step being wrong. I guess since it was so subtle and no issues made, I didn't catch it. They don't run around nit-picking everything though.

I've defended you and have been lit up for it so find it funny for you to go to those lengths to dissect ANY LITTLE anti-bama sentiment; however, despite the fact I get tired of it, I think you're a good man and it doesn't bother me if it's unpopular. It should be flattering to LSU fans that you (If you are as connected to Bama football as I think you are) are so concerned about what we think. There are Bama fans being critical of NS about what his choice of clothes but you insist on trying to refute media reports instead of trying to sell him to bama fans........unless you're running around and doing the same with them.

It's really neither here nor there to me. Miles is our coach, LSU is headed in the right direction and I'm excited about our fans rallying around him and our program. The hiring of NS has backfired and been a springboard for our fan base to give Miles the support that he should have been receiving.

You see, unlike bama fans who can't "Bury" a dead man, we (LSU fans) don't mind burying them before they're dead.

I like how you guys did that "Fear the thumb" thing this year for the Iron Bowl. Next year I would start the other hand with the middle finger.

Re: Saban tells the truth for once?

Quick comment about one of the paragraphs here...

Back when Shockley was still in the JUCO ranks, he had several programs after him...Miami, OU, TX, among others. Their JUCO coach personally asked the respective coaches not to have any contact with any of his players until their season was over.

Despite the fact Coker agree to that, he was making contact with Shockley, behind their coach's back, throughout their season. Some of that contact, I've been told, was during the dead period.

Now, Shockley isn't known for having a great character, but, you can't call moves like that by Coker to be decent...in any stretch of the imagination.

Nice article. What an opportunist Saban is. He's taking care of his family all the way to the bank. Does anyone think Bama and the Shula's can make up after Bama runs Saban out of town? The guy I most feel sorry for is Mike Shula. He was an average QB that constantly gave his all in leading Bama to great victories. I hope someday all that can iron out for the better.

As for Saban and LSU, it looks like LSU has gotten the most from him then anyone else.

    Geaux Tigers!

Re: Saban tells the truth for once?

It really had nothing to do with money. He ended up taking a pay cut of a half a million dollars over the next 3 seasons. And I can't see him getting more enforsement dollars as Bama head coach vs what he was able to do in South Florida as an NFL head coach. Definitely not a money issue.

He just couldn't stand losing. And he realized that the Dolphins were not getting better, but much worse, and fast. Their defense is one of the oldest in the NFL and there is no easy fix for it. And of course we know they had one of the most inept offenses in all of the NFL. Talk about a bad situation to be in. So what does he do, jump ship. And there my friend tells you all you need to know about his character. Yet he preaches those same intangibles for his players and coaches that surround him. Hypocrisy to the nth degree.
