If the stipend is $1500 per month, or $18,000 per year and the players are "limited" to 20 hours per week of practice\play time, it still works to over $17 per hour. As a wage for college students, that isn't too bad. It is about the same that I pay the students that work for me.

Re: Chadd lets the bammers have it! I'm going to have to do more research to verify that...but, based only on memory, it seems it was $1250 and has been bumped since then. Also, I think there is a difference if you live on campus vs off campus...if you have the meal plan vs eating at home. Another thing to consider. The players living on campus do share their dorm's with other college students/non-athletes. BUT, their dorm isn't like other dorms as far as amenities.

Of course, I do not let it typify an entire fanbase. But, if those were LSU fans sending those emails, I would be just as ashamed as the Bammers should be.

Re: $aban is After Joe McKnight I know that Mcknight is unfortunately seriously considering Bama, I just hope that just because Saban paid him extra special attention when he was a freshman at Curtis that he doesn't trust him this weekend!
