  1. Re: Chadd lets the bammers have it!

I understand what you are saying, but he would lose his credibility with other media.
  2. Re: $aban is After Joe McKnight

Looks like Joe McKnight has jumped to the #2 overall recruit in the nation according to rivals.com . He also has moved up from a 4 star rating to a 5 star rating. It still looks like he is deciding between USC and LSU. Hopefully he'll come to his senses and committ to LSU very soon.
  3. Re: Chadd lets the bammers have it!

He's pretty harsh to Bama fans, but admits that all SEC fans are pretty much nuts about their team. Overall, I can't find anything I disagree with in his article! He pretty much hit the nail on the head with that one.:thumb:
  4. Re: Saban tells the truth for once?

Anyone else not like what's happening in college football?

I know it's been the pre-NFL for a long time, but there is still loyalty in those players. They place bets etc. about their schools playing.

The coaches, however, are as bad as their NFL breatheren. There needs to be more stability in college football- it's the way the system works.

I, for one, am getting tired of it.
  5. Re: $aban is After Joe McKnight

McKnight always was a 5 star recruit. He was previously ranked #10.
  6. Re: Chadd lets the bammers have it!

i was surprised to see that one of them had an email address with "buck fush" in it. i dont picture too many diehard gumps as liberals.
  7. Re: Chadd lets the bammers have it!

    this one was particularly great.

"if you come to Mobile, Al. and let me know your there I will meet you and I promise you I will DIE trying to whip your tail.
    Rick Cauley [email protected]"

doesnt even have the confidence to say he will whip him, but he'll try.
  8. Re: Chadd lets the bammers have it!

I just like how he oh so subtly changed the spelling of Saban to Satan midway thru his article.
  9. Re: $aban is After Joe McKnight

There you have found a fault of mine, if you want to call it a fault. I guess it's the fact of being raised by an English Prof, studied a lot of writing throughout my educational years...basically, what that has led to is when I respond to something, I do so at length with the intent of leaving no stone unturned.

The only reason I choose to respond here to those things said about Bama is I feel instead of having misconceptions out there, most true football fans would like to know the truth of the matter instead of being swept up in some Internet fodder. (See Saban to San Diego as example...but that one was so out there it didn't deserve a response.)

After spending more than a decade dealing with fans like the one's you have just mentioned, I've pulled out of the association I had with Bamanation Partners, aka Tidefans.com. I had a great time there...spent more than a decade heavily involved in the day to day operations.

However, it reached a point that there were too many things going in directions that...well, didn't mesh with mine. More so than that, in retrospect, it was one of the smartest moves that could be made. Going through this past decade of both ups and downs I can now sit back and be a fan...enjoy the passion I have for the program, but, most importantly be able to sit back on a Saturday and enjoy the game again for what it is...what it was meant to be...without having the worries of watching a forum to see if there were things that needed to be deleted, people who needed to be put in a time-out, etc.

I don't regret the last decade at all...able to meet hundreds of great fans across the SEC...able to establish contacts in and around all the programs...so in esssence, I'm not missing a thing about the program, other than dealing with the embarassment of being associated with a certain segment of the fan base.

SEE, there I go again...diatribe.
