It can come from reduced spending and entitlements reform. They need to quit acting like the Medicare/SS ponzi schemes will go on forever. They won't. Do something now.
I'll say it one last time and I'll use really small words . . . The Congress writes budget amendments. You will find them in the congressional record. The President met with Congressional leaders to hash out a budget plan. The President outlined a plan with a $4 Trillion deficit reduction. The meetings were WELL DOCUMENTED with published statements from both sides The meeting produced no bills from either side. That's Congress' job. The President can influence Congress, but he doesn't do their jobs. We have a Constitution that spells this out. If you can't find the articles about it, it ain't my problem. I gave you links to get you started.
Tell me what you advocate cutting. Talk is cheap, but when it came down to cutting the actual budget Boehner's plan barely reached 1 Trillion dollars. The republicans cry about budget cuts but they fear to run for re-election on slashing medicare, defense, and social security which are the only things possible to cut. I await your list of cuts. Make them real ones.
Well joker, for a guy that I did not think was too bright, that is a pretty good synopsis (even if you got a bit carried away in the final paragraph). Good Job
Okay...thanks! I'll take that as a no. I didn't think anything existed but thought maybe you could produce evidence like you always request. Guess not.
I never said that there was a document, I said Obama had a budget plan that was offered to Boehner (who is is the only one that can write budget amendments, since he runs the House). Then I documented that with links. This constitutes evidence of the Presidents plan. You are now claiming that since there was no budget amendment that came out of the informal negotiations that no plan existed. And you would be wrong, as I demonstrated. The White House cannot write budget amendments! So you can take this as a . . . wise up!
kill all drug enforcement, close the DEA, release all drug prisoners. abolish the dept of agriculture and HUD. make monopolies legal and stop prosecuting that. kill the dept of labor. reduce by half the depts of energy, commerce, health and human services. end the space program entirely. kill the NEA. kill govt subsidy for all private companies. work toward privatizing social security. end all foreign aid, instead using that money for bullets to kill the foreigners that destabilize the countries we used to aid.
Nasa's budget is about 17 billion i think, .6% (point six) of the total budget? THe space programs total contribution to the US far exceeds the expense....there are many valuable intangibles , such as national pride, more young Americans 'into' math and science... ANd the NEA's budget of under 200 million is tiny, but a great benefit to society. Most of the great works of art in history were created by artist with endowments from their state, rulers, etc, aka government
Everything. SS, Medicare, Medicaid, Defense, Education, EPA, DEA, NASA, grants, subsidies...I mean everything. Nothing is sacred. Some people will get hurt but in the long run it will be good for the future of America and future generations. Then, quit acting like Business is the root of our problems and get the hell out of their way. Let capitalism thrive and the jobs and revenue will add up. Someone has to get this done. Sucks to be us, but it's time to quit acting like everything will work itself out. It won't. We could start by having Tea Party people in both houses and the White House.
SF: I would love to be there, I don't look much forward to getting there. Have you given any thought to what states might PICK UP, and have to increase taxes for? It is fine to say cut this, but at some point, states will start taxing and then you have 50 yahoos making tax code. Now that would really suck.
