It has nothing to do with doubting our coaches' evaluation abilities. It's about judging talent for ourselves and noticing when we're clearly settling.

Chavis and Cooper really like Johns. If we don't land Myles, then Johns will definitely be a part of this class. Even with Myles, Johns looks likely as a 3rd safety in this class.
Johns liked his visit to La. Tech. His next visit is to UL-L. Then LSU the weekend after on the 23rd. He said LSU seems interested (from meeting Chavis/Cooper at LSU recently). He was not offered however. He says he wants to decide right after his last visit, which is the LSU visit. Makes me think LSU may settle on just 1 more safety (Myles is a strong possibility) or they want to check out more film on him before making a decision. I think we will know if Johns will be part of this class before NSD. If it drags out towards that day, look for Johns to commit elsewhere.
Offered a greyshirt today with a chance to get a full offer for 2009. Pushed his visit back to the 30th so the staff has a better idea of where we stand with Myles by then. Therefore, I think he will get a full offer is Myles goes elsewhere.
Excellent move. I am not convinced this guy is SEC caliber, although I do think he is very capable of getting to that level. A grey shirt is perfect for LSU and Johns. Nice job Coach Miles.
