Actually, I was just wondering if there was some other service that was saying he got to 300. It's certainly conceivable that someone decided he got 9 yards instead of 8 on one particular pass and 11 yards instead of 10 on another to get him to 300. Is there a definitive, official keeper of the statistics that everyone copies? Or does everyone compile their own?

RP is miles ahead of where VY was at this point in terms of passing ability. Sucker can absolutely sling it, and doesn't look like a girl when doing so. As far as overall athleticism is concerned, the comparison is well-warranted. But RP will be much more versatile in his career.

VY is twice the runner and RP is twice the passer...RP is nowhere near VY in terms of being able to elude tacklers and/or run through them and VY was (and still isn't that close) nowhere near RP in terms of being able to recognize the play and deliver a quality ball, deep or short. Their arm strength is comparable.

That is not what you said or what I disagreed with

He did not do that all night or at any time this year..there is simply no evidence of that. As for your revised reply, he did hold the ball longer than he could vs. SEC teams..however vs. MTSU he only held the ball for long periods of time when he had time to do so. If he has the time, why not wait for the play to develop fully...

i like to buck the trend of comparing players to other players of the same race. i will say RP is a jeff garcia/steve young type.

I've been saying for a while that JR is most similar to Brett Favre.

It's interesting that you say Steve Young because I thought of RP reminding me of Young several times last night. I think it was the toughness of his running that did it.

Or, we could just do like Bradshaw and Long did last year, and see how many black QB's we can compare RP to in two minutes. Remember the JR is a Culpepper or Moon or Williams, etc., etc.?

Single game stats are meaningless. Hell, Rohan Davey got about 500 passing yards in one game for an LSu record. Does that make him better than Y.A. Tittle or Bert Jones?

    Nope.

    That LB was OPEN!!!!!:hihi:

RP had a good game, and the future looks bright. But for some reason, the offense didn't look as fluid last night as it has the 1st 2 games. Probably due to the fact that a lot of in-experienced guy played last night. I'm not at all bashing the performance last night, just elevating the team that played weeks 1 and 2.

The only real flaw I saw in Perriloux are minor and will be fixed with playing time.
    • He seems to wait until the guy is separateing instead of anticipating it.
    • Also, some of his passes while caught, were not right on target. The TD to Byrd was underthrown slightly like he may have put too much air under it.
    • It looks like Flynn does a little better job of positioning himself for a hit. There's been a few times this year where RP looked like he got squared up pretty good by a defender, while Flynn other than one time in the VT game, seems to take more glancing blows. With experience, that can and I'm sure will be corrected, or his career may get shortened.
