I'm not sure if his missing classes/practice is because of his dad illness/death or not...but how about waiting for all the evidences to come out before you cast that first stone??? Maybe have some trust in Miles that he will do the right thing???

The kid's dad just died...for those who lost a love one, you should know better. Give this guy some space and let him have his due process with Miles before yall clamoring on and on about kicking him off the team...:dis:

i'll go as far as to say:

I GUARANTEE he won't be kicked off the team (for this offense). Of course something else may happen down the road, but this is more of a "rest, get away, recollect your thoughts from all that is going on" situation than it is a punishable offense.

Why does it need to convince you... he has never been found guilty of a crime. Blame it on the good ole boys club getting him off, the fact that the cops may have done shoddy investigations, possibly a misunderstanding, whatever it takes for you to sleep better at night...

As far as I'm concerned, RP has had some lapses in judgment, but nothing to the extent that he needs to be sent packing. Now let him throw a girl down some stairs, expose himself to the Tri Delts, get busted with a controlled substance, or any other list of serious crimes and then be found guilty... and I'll say "See You Later Ryan"... but as of now, his troubles are very much normal for kids his age.

Race? When the hell did I even hint to that? I think you may want to throw it out, but as far as I'm concerned, he's a young student athlete that has had some trouble getting used to the freedom that we have outside of Mom and Dad's ever watchful eye.

yeah, well - stand by. If this drags out, you'll see it.

Probably not brave enough to just say it, but it'll be there.

I apologize for being the first to warn about it. But I stand by it. And it usually starts by folks trying to diminish things like an FBI investigation...

FBI are glorified state troopers that take themselves to serious... if there was anything on RP, then they would have charged him. He was probably a witness or had some information that they needed and they didn't know if he himself was involved but by charging him attempted to scare him into giving them the information that they wanted. I think it was just a tactical ploy.

I hope you're right.

I hope he's misunderstood and misrepresented and is cleared by next Fall.

I hope he's the kind of team leader who can rally the team on the field and provide the right kind of example off the field (or at least not provide the wrong kind).

I hope he has two awesome seasons, teaches Lee and Jefferson the ropes, and is a first round draft pick.

And, I think he's just suspended, so I think there IS still hope.
