Re: Will RP remain on the team ?

:geaux::crystal::helmet: But just exactly how many chances does this kid get? He knows what the expectations of the program and the coaches are, but still screws up anyway. Yes, his father passed away, but you still have to be mature enough to handle things like that. He's not a freshman. He's been in the program for three years now. He knows what's expected and what will happen if you screw up. It seems he's not totally dedicated to the team and his team mates. He still has too much "me" in the situation.

Also, I think if he was a player of lesser talent he may have been gone already. Who was the OL from Texas who got kicked off the team permanently last year after punching someone in a bar? Was it Kyle Anderson? Not sure on name. Anyway, it was a similar incident to what Chase Pittman was involved with. Pittman only got suspended. Looks on the surface that maybe if the more talented you are, the more chances you get. Would hope that wouldn't be the case, but it looks that way. Last time I looked, Perriloux is the starting QB next year and no one else can just step right in and take his place. Is this a factor as to why he gets chance after chance after chance, etc?

What kind of example does this set for the rest of the players? Don't get me wrong, I don't think you kick someone off the team the first time they mess up. Kids will screw up because they are kids. There comes a time though when enough is enough. Has LSU reached this point with Perriloux? If they haven't, its got to be close. Other players haven't had this many chances in the past. :geauxtige:champs::LSU231:

Reading these last few pages of posts, and being divorced from the emotions of 'fandom' for LSU, it really starts to sound pathetic when ppl. continually make excuses for an adult. The guy used up his chances on other things NOT related to a family death. I am sorry he lost his father...But he should have been on the straight and narrow before that and it would NOT be an issue. Maybe CLM invoked "a little known codicil of the Faber college constitution" and RP has been under DOUBLE SECRET PROBATION. That would certainly explain his presence on the team...I am sure it has nothing to do with his skills, position or the depth chart. How long before I have to read about "what the definition of is, is"? The rules are probably pretty clear until you start making allowances for skill levels.

    GOOD LUCK
    GO APPS!

Of course! I'm sure Appalachian State NEVER has problems with players and its program is the epitome of perfect. The players never get in trouble and the coaches don't have to worry about players missing classes :insane:

Too bad your "divorced" from LSU fandom; it's the best feeling in the world.

I haven't posted on this in a few days ... still waiting for more information (that may or may not be released).

It looks like Miles is allowing things to simmer down a bit. I hope this turns out to be much-ado about nothing!

You should read all of the posts then, not just the last couple of pages. Many LSU fans have been pretty hard on RP, as much as many who are supporting him. your condescending tone certainly implies a level of moral superiority, which, as of now, you have not established any credibility in this regard, and should attempt to be a better guest here. LSU runs a quality program, with a coach who values integrity and handles the accompanying media attention well, be it positive or negative. Perhaps when you're program is at the level LSU is, (though i thoroughly enjoyed the win over UM), then you can come here and act like your squeeky clean program (seriously doubt that--1-AA programs aren't under near the scrutiny, and most players don't have NFL careers to blow). Until then, try and be a more open minded guest. :thumb:

    WOW!!! Awesome post Buckeye78.

It's nice for a guest to come in here and stick up for us and the program that we love.

If he had read the entire thread, he would have noticed an almost even split in the number of us posters who feel like RP has worn out his welcome vs the number of us who feel the contrary.

Once again, I don't think we have all the facts yet.

Thanks again for sticking up for us!!!
