Fair or unfair, that is just life. The bigger the figure, the more scrutiny. But let's be honest, he has brought most of this on himself. Remember all the bragging about all the things he will accomplish when he sign with LSU? It is him making all these mistakes.

He wants to be the man. The scrutiny is just part of being that man. Can't separate the two.

No doubt. And it is also a double standard. That was the original point.

    Fantastic point here.

If he had come in humble at first and did the right things, then maybe we would be less critical of him at this point.

    He did make his bed.

i don't think so. ryan perrilloux has his problems and nobody can deny that, but let's go through what we know he's done.

used a fake id - was there with many members the team, matt flynn included, and nobody criticized anyone but rp. why not criticize team leadership
was involved in an altercation at the varsity - nobody knows what went on there except for the people involved and even they don't know what's going on. one thing's for sure, nathan fisher made some strong statements hinting towards going after a civil case against the varsity. lawyers don't say that, especially not publicly, unless their client is bulletproof. oh and many people from the team were there including dorsey.
was late to meetings, practice, workouts - we don't know exactly what he was late to, how late he was, or when this occurred (or at least i haven't found that info). we do know his father passed away just before this stuff came to light, maybe that had something to do with it? fact is we don't know.

none of these things are really that bad. as far as i'm concerned, the varsity isn't really an "incident" at all. that was odom's deal, not ryan's.

i'm sure there are other people on the team that have been involved in similar things with not nearly the publicity that RP receives. RP didn't ask for this, it's pushed on him. i remember matt mascona ripping ryan for an hour because he was there at some point when odom tried to destroy some kid's car. we all knew that rp wasn't the only teammate there and we all knew that rp left the scene so as to not be involved.

was anyone else criticized to the point of rp? hell no. was anyone else criticized at all? no. not even odom.

i believe that for whatever reason people "have it in" for him. if someone caught him not washing his hands after a pee i'm sure there'd be some rumor that he's trying to spread disease.

but look at me, i'd love for people to shut up and stop talking about it yet i write a whole page about it.

Do you include Miles in that statement? He is the person who has suspended him three times, not the fans. If RP truly hasn't done anything bad as you claim, then how can he get suspended 3 times?

All we do is discuss it and give our opinion on it, which is what fans do about any subject related to their team.

You know Flynn didnt do anything wrong.

RP was with Odom. We know what kind of person Odom is. He needs to stay away from those people.

You think Miles would suspend a guy for being 3 minutes late to one meeting after a parents death?

Youre leaving out one pretty important incident.

They are not bad if you are the water boy but every thing on that post has the potential of taking our quarterback out for a game or the season. Those little mistakes takes special effort by someone to spin it into acceptable behavior. How many classes can he miss and pass his college courses? How many team meetings can he miss and still be competent to lead the the team? How many bar room brawls before he breaks his hand and misses the rest of the season? It's just a matter of time if he continues this pattern.

All this is wearing down the support as well as patience of the LSU fan base for Perrilloux. Light seems to be at the end of the tunnel whichever way this gets to turn out.

It is just unthinkable and unacceptable for a potential leader of the offense next year to miss team meetings and practice (without cause); doesn't do much good for respect from teammates, nor discipline. Missing classes is not a big deal, IMO :D, if he keeps up the grade.
