What's been reported of them are. With no further knowledge, are we to believe he's just that unlucky to be mentioned in the same breath with "Problems" and be in the wrong place so often?

If he was at Bama, USC, or Florida we'd be screaming it reeked of cover-up.

I only count three. Not that it's any better.

That's for the coaches to decide. And they have much more info than we do on the matter. I trust they will do the right thing. To say there is a double standard with RP is the same as saying our coaches are doing a lousy job. And the past three years tell me that's not the case.

P&G, this is no doubt the last chance for Perrilloux. I think if he comes back with the right frame of mind and addresses his problems with Miles then he will have that one last chance. But any faltering on his part, and it won't take much, then it's over. Miles will move on and get this team ready to be as good as we can be with another QB leading the way. Someone who cherishes the position.

Khounda, you seriously believe there is no double standard for RP?

I love the coaching staff too, but they are human, not gods.

Les Miles realizes more than anyone that an 8-5 or 7-6 season will bring out all the Miles doubters/haters/detractors in droves, even with this LSU team just 1 year removed from the most coveted position in the land. It's sad, but true.

That’s all great till he screws up the Monday week of Florida.

If he is allowed to continue to lead this team (and I have faith in Miles's decision), who on this board will be holding their breath throughout the season that that does not happen?

Come on. Nobody ever gets dismissed for missing a team meeting and a few classes. Perrilloux's notoriety is getting him a bunch of attention on the off season when Mandel and others have little to write about. But this ain't that big of a deal and trying to compare it with criminal activity is ridiculous.

Fulmer has an athlete who just had his 5th alcohol-related incident and he wasn't dismissed. Why should Les dismiss a player for missing class? The guy is suspended, it's a team punishment and it's not the end of the world for Perrilloux or LSU.

What I meant to get across is that the coaches will not let the double standard tear apart the football team like some think will happen. There is no doubt that there is to an extent a double standard for RP. However, the rest of the team seems to be keeping out of trouble, or only have one offense. So there isn't really much to compare RP's situation too.

Are you two suggesting Miles would not have suspended the deep snapper for the same offense and is unfairly treating RP?

Any LSU football player suspended will make the news and the message boards. The amount of discussion about it depends on the player, but you can't hide suspensions these days.

As long as the players are behind Perrilloux and sincerely want him to lead this team, then I have no problem trying to work out the problems with this kid. And I believe that's what Miles is attempting to do right now.

Once it crosses the line of fracturing the team, then Miles will make the difficult choice of letting RP go. Hopefully it doesn't get to that point.

Red, you bring up a valid point, but that's like saying we need to hold (or not hold) our standards to the likes of scumbags like Fulmer and Meyer. I don't wish to ever get to that point.

I wasn't. And I didn't take his statement to mean that.

This is the double standard. On message boards and in the media. I was trying to find the thread on Chris Mitchell getting questioned about the shooting in Metairie, but I couldn't find it. I have a feeling it's not quite as long as the thread on RP getting questioned about the fake money though. It also didn't get as much media time.
