I'm tired of these RP threads every few months. I'll just wait to see what happens. CLM is the Caretaker & CEO of our football program. I've seen enough from our coach to understand that he will not let anyone or anything get in the way of team goals.

 

I absolutely appreciate that he is going through alot the last couple of weeks. We all need to take this into account. To not consider what has happened would be foolish.

Having said that, from all account RP and his father have been estranged since he was 7 years old. Now could some things come up when they were stuffed down for so many years? I suppose.

I've seen so many people post that maybe this is a wake up call or turning point in his life. But one could have thought that about the "alledged" counterfeiting ring, or the fake ID to go into a casino or the fight at the varsity bar. Now this. While on the surface missing classes, workouts and meetings is something we all have done at some point in our lives but what kind of teammate is this? It's also been reported that he has further developed that huge ego of his.

In the end, like a reasonable person should do is defer to CLM. He seems like a fair man and will take the appropriate stance.

Based on what we know as facts (two paragraphs above) RP doesn't get it and should be kicked off the team. But once again we don't have all the facts. This is CLM's decision not ours.

what gave you the idea he told him he was taking off a few days? ive read nothing of the sort.

because you are level headed but unfortunately most of the nation won't see it that way and the media will probably crush les miles for it since they already wanted him to be a bad coach (and he isn't) and wanted him to leave for michigan (and he didn't).

Well, I have read all 17 pages of this thread... and wonder sometimes how people will justify behavior to the ends of the earth. Yes, it may be an emotional time for him and he probably did something not advisable (according to my reliable sources) really really not advisable. Let me place myself in Les's shoes for a moment. I am going to try to "father" this kid all the while I place myself and the football program's momentum at stake to see if I can right this kid's ship. The leadership counsel of the current football team will have a say in this and I can tell you that they do not want to jeopardize next year waiting on RP to have another mental lapse. So why did Miles "just" indefinitely suspend him? Well, let me just suspend him for immediacy and let me coordinate with PR and legal counsel to make sure that this is done correctly so that there will no repercussions from the public as well as RP and his lawyer. Next time I'll do your homework for you, but quoting exactly what Mr. Heisman said about how many Heismans' and NC's he was going to win, on and on is old news.

RP never does anything wrong...neither does any other "great" athlete...I quoted again!
