Mr. Heisman has demonstrated his unwillingness to be a team player since the day he de-committed from UT. "I'm gonna do this, I'm gonna do that, etc."

Mr. Heisman is Cecil Collins without the felonies. "All about me, when I want it, how I want it and no responsibility."

Away with him now before he infects and destroys what Dorsey, Hester, Landry, Flynn, Spears, and co. have built over the years.

Miles conveniently brought him back twice...how many more times before Miles demonstrates his so-called iron "nads" when it comes to players...easy to have 'em for 4th downs compared to this.

Let me just start by saying I have been a tiger forums fan for many years and have enjoyed listening to all the colorful commentary posted here and whether I agree or disagree it's usually always Insightful and for the most part we'll thought-out content.

I rarely post on the site as I am usually content to sit back and read and listen, and therefore don't have much at all of a reputation or credibility on the boards.

However, I had to take this opportunity to post on this critical juncture in LSU football because I feel It might lend some insight (however small) to
the current situation we are all dealing with as Tiger faithful.

I have had the random chance of sitting next to RP's GF this semester in a class at school. She is a very nice girl who doesn't come across at all like the masses were painting her out to be to be in the fall when the said earlier incidents took place.

Out of respect I will not go into details but the death of RP's father was a very sudden and bizarre tragic accident and if something like that ever happened to someone I was close to ESPCIALLY my father, I would be in emotional shambles for quite some time and in no physical or mental state to attend classes the next day following the funeral much less participate in workouts at 6 am the following morning as he was expected to do.

Now obviously none of us know all the full details concerning the suspension and their is a good chance there is a justifiable reason to suspend him, but hearing the human
element of the story from someone close to him, I think this situation is ALOT different then the first couple incidents.

And look I'll be the first to say that I was very critical of RP after the first couple
occurrences and was leaning towards saying good riddance if anything else happened no matter how remotely small it was.

All I'm trying to say is to me this is starting to look like the boy who cried wolf too many times and RP is sort of reaping what he has sowed the past couple years. He is finally in a mess where the court of public opinion probably should give this kid a break and let the whole thing play out. We all know it isn’t happening locally or nationall because of everything that has transpired before.

All I know is he is going through a ton of $hit the past couple weeks and I wouldn't wish what happened to him on anybody I know including an enemy so I would just say let's give this thing a ride and try to let it play out before we rush to judgment and banish him from the magic kingdom. CLM knows all the details and will rule in an appropriate manner but my money (not that it's worth more than 2 cents) is that he will be reinstated before spring ball. This incident may also prove to be the turning point in his life where it kind of forces him to man up and assume his responsibilities. Now this may be wishful thinking on my part but I am cautiously optimistic
    As Always :geauxtige:lsup:LSU!.

I've never done anything wrong in my life so I don't know what you're talking about.

i absolutely agree, but indefinate suspension seems counterproductive.

how is rp going to become more responsible by having less responsibilities?

You would think that US Secret Service agents questioning you about felony charges would have straightened you up.

WBRZ played an interview with RP last night from the BCS game where RP said all the right things. “I now know what it takes to be successful”, “I know how important my 5 am workouts are”, “Coach Miles knows I am in this to get my degree and be the person possible, not the best football player possible”. He sounded like a great teammate.

He has to have CLM on speed dial on his cell after last year. How hard is it to call CLM and say “hey my dad died and I am going to be gone from school for the week”? If you really learned from your troubles last year you have to be smart enough to pick up the phone and make the call.

Something else happened. Just a gut feeling that forgetting to inform coach about leaving school on a personal matter does not justify full blown media attention.

First of all, condolences to RP and his family. Secondly, someone mentioned turning into Thug W, or something along those lines...I don't believe that's a concern at all. As much as we idolize some of these kids, which is what they are, and like to think that they never have problems and that discipline isn't ever an issue at our schools, it's unrealistic to think so. That said, I think we really need to wait and see if details are released, and if so, what they are, before passing judgment. If they aren't released, which may be the right thing to do, given the sensitive circumstances, I would feel confident trusting Les Miles to do the right thing. I also agree that this may be the situation to help him get his head screwed on.

During the lead up to the game, with some of the questions around Donald Washington, and Eugene Clifford, I read something from Tressel that i think is appropriate here...

When a kid commits to your school, as a coach, you're responsible not only to uphold the integrity of the program, but also, as importantly, if not more so, to help this young man grow and become a better person. Coaches have a responsibilty to these kids to be on their side. Obviously there is a line that has to be drawn, but we shouldn't be surprised when a coach gives a kid a second chance, or doubt their credibilty when they do. We buckeyes have seen it go both ways...Clarrett obviously couldn't be helped...Troy Smith on the other hand cleaned his act up, and regardless of what happened on the field, if you've ever listened to Troy, he's become a class act, and his coach giving him the chance to do so is undoubtedly the reason IMO.

I'm not familiar with some of the prior incidents, but I will be withholding judgement until we see how this develops, and even if it works out poorly (don't think it will), I will not think any less of your program or coach for trying to help a kid get his act together...

Edit: and shame on anyone else who would!

This is going to be a very long, excruciating offseason.

It does not justify it, but do you think that matters to the media?

Oh from the little bit of detail I heard , it was my understanding that he did let them know he was going to miss a couple days and they were like "the hell your going to miss this is critical training during off-season".
I got the feeling it wasn't so much a matter of RP not telling him, it was RP telling him he needed a couple of days to let everything sink in; And CLM feeling he was being insubordinate and not showing up. My point was maybe giving the kid of week or so would have been for the best instead of pushing him to show up at 6 am the morning after your dad has just been laid in the ground. That might just be me I guess I'm not a big enough hard ass, but if soldiers can usually get emergency leave when family members die, man idk.
