I never said RP was falsely accused... just never charged. To my memory Mark Sanchez was arrested, charged, and released when the female eventually dropped the charges against him.

The Sanchez incident didn't get nearly the press time that it deserved. Sexual Assault vs. Fake ID... I see what is more important sporting news. Just look at what happened to the Duke Lacrosse Team... do you think the Sanchez incident got nearly as much attention?

Wonder why she agreed to press charges and then magically decided to drop them? The Sanchez incident didn't seem to get its fair share of national media attention... it damn sure doesn't seem to get as much as Perrilloux's... but that may be my P&G glasses.

You pulling the Kobe card... or is it still the Tyson card...

    Non Disclosure Agreement?

I'd just like to add that if Perilloux can stick it out with the team we'll be hearing all season on the tube how "this kid is troubled and has faced diversity, but he has all the talent in the world." This also opens us up to critical comments from rivals - the same criticisms some here don't have a problem abusing.

Not that either of those things is more important than a rash on the ass.

I'd like to see him play and am reluctant to be critical of Miles' decision making ability. Dude keeps doing the right thing, I've learned to cut him some slack.

    Re: What does Les do?

We don't know all the facts. Let's try and trust our coach, who just won a NC, to handle it right.

I would hope he's been coaching long enough that he's aware that if he lets Perriloux off too easy, in the eyes of his teammates, could cause him to lose discilpine, and then control of the team.

If it gets mishandled, it'll be Les who will pay the price for it.

No doubt, though, Perriloux does seem to be unable to shape up.

At 2:30 in the morning, posting on TF meets much adversity.:thumb:

You can bet the commentators will run his 3 suspensions into the ground, no doubt.

He will be back, there has got to be a reason behind this. His dad just died and probably has been sick for sometime now. So I am giving him the benefit of the doubt. Its not like he held up a liquor store or got busted for weed.

Guilbeaux reported his father died from a fall. I wish I knew more details on that because if truw that really sucks.

I am hearing that Miles has or will address the team on the matter and RP's teammates are in strong favor of keeping RP with the team. Maybe Clair can confirm?

The death of RP’s father is tragic and I hope he can get his act together.
But I hate this distraction for the football team and most of all I really hate this overshadowing all the other good things happening in LSU sports. But until the dust settles, this will be the headline as far as LSU sports is concerned. I hope it is resolved quickly.

I don't think Clair is right on this one. It just doesn't add up IMO, even though you've been right quite often concerning all things RP. I don't see a reason why coaches would call this a suspension, if it is actually a leave of abscence. You just start the rumor mill going.

And why do this when you are about to announce your staffing changes and takes all attention away from where it should be, the coaching staff.

Why do the suspension right now?

I don't think Miles is trying to knock out 2 birds with one stone, which is allowing RP to have a leave of abscence, send a message to the 3rd string up and comers, plus send a message to RP.

I still have a feeling it is a situation that Miles felt he needed to deal with now, especially since RP has been a headache to Miles since he came here.

RP is immature, finds trouble, is arrogant, and a waste of talent. He doesn't know how to handle his talent, his status, and himself.

I really hope this is less of a big deal and gets back on the team and he straightens up yet one more time. But if you keep giving people 2nd chances time and time again, they will take advantage of you and I think this is what is happening. RP thinks he can do what he wants and still be on the team. This might be one last chance Miles maybe giving him. I would much rather a suspension and cut happen now instead of something happening mid season.

Miles needs to think about this. There is probably a 90% chance that Miles will have to deal with an RP action this season.

Now if you talk about setting a precedent to other players, what sort of signal are you sending when you continue to give one player numerous chances to get his act straight and he never does. That tells other players that they can get away with things without being kicked off the team.
