Imagine the young third-string freshman player who sees that if you miss a practice, you get suspended, even if you're the starting QB.

Think that sends a message to work hard and do the right things?

He is in no way, shape or form in any danger of being kicked off the team.

Part of why he was suspended is because the coaches feel he needed time away from everything anyway.

It's better to say they "suspended him" than to say "he took a leave of absence," because then people will question "Is his head in the game," etc... etc...

Well said. And by someone who is close to the team.[/quote]

I know you may think that this is the best post. I call it wishful thinking. You think that people will question if his head is in the game if they give him a leave of absence??? What do you think "people" are gonna say if they hear he is suspended??

I can see where you are coming from...and I hope you are both correct...but I see no reason for a star QB getting a "leave of absence" for his father's death being called a "suspension". It makes no sense at all, and it is unnecessary bad publicity for the University. Whereas giving the star QB a leave would be good publicity. It would show that they care about their players.

I am not bashing Ryan either...just not buying the "leave of absence" theory. It doesn't make any sense at all to me. Sorry.

You can call it a theory if you want to. All I know is, given what I've seen in a year of posting and four of lurking is, I don't believe anything until it's verified by Clair. Dude doesn't post for the hell of it, he has legit sources, and he's almost always right (I didn't say always, because I may have missed that one time when he wasn't).

Loca, Clair is saying that they are suspending because of breaking the team rules and the fact that his father died made it easier to suspend him knowing he needs time to get it together.

What's with the troll comment?? I hope the guy stays and plays. I am a fan. A fan tired of hearing the same old stuff about p-loo. He gets in trouble, we all wonder why he does it, and some of us defend him, while others protect him. I am doing neither, only stating that the fat lady may not be singing yet on his career here, but she is definitely coming out of her dressing room.

I hope the quotes about this being nothing are correct...but man I am tired of having to sit on the edge of my seat and bite my fingers off worrying if our star QB is gonna play or if he is in hot water again. Ya feelin me? Or are you just looking for an argument?

I "kind of" understand....and I am in no way denouncing Claire's credibility. I hope it is dead on...I may just be pessimistic about the whole thing. And given the history...can you blame me? Forgive me if I ruffled any feathers. I apologize. I am just a little edgy about hearing more bad news about our guy man. Please let the madness stop....please.

    Re: What does Les do?

I'd hold judgement out at least until the details are released. Personally I can't judge him even then. It's not my place.
